My kitty just keeps flopping down and looking tired as we are having a heat wave here right now....I discovered a great cat food she really loves called "Wellness" brand..she only likes the chicken flavor so I bought a whole case of it and in the big cans as it isn't cheap so one can lasts about four days..it only has meat and veggies in it and no grain.

Now that it's cooler here & I've stopped sleeping with a fan pointed at the bed, da Boyz haz returned. I wake up sometimes because I can't move my feet!! There are 250 lbs of woman & 42 lbs of cat on that twin bed. It gets pretty crowded. LOL Another good reason for me to keep losing weight!!

Mine are all sprawled out around the place.  Looking around, there is still food on the plates.....hmmmmmmm, that's not always the case.  Maybe it's for a midnight snack.

I kicked the a/c up and left a few windows open today, it was actually cooler here.  When I left, I had a kitteh in each window.  When I came home, they were all at the door, waiting......to sneak out on me!  KB and Smooch got by me.....little stinkers!  And they bitched about it all the way back up the stairs.  The skeeters are terrible, so I only take them out during the day.

The yard people came today, and when I left, Lil Mama had moved her beebees off someplace.  Since I want to catch them once they are older, I was a bit put out.  But I went looking thru all the bushes around the house, to no avail......when I got back at my upstairs back door,  I looked down, and everyone was wehre they should be.  She brought them back!  They are starting to hobble around, they are still wobbly, and they are soooooooo cyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot!  I lubs little beebees!  I'm going to start trying to line up homes for them here in the next few weeks.  One good thing is that Lil Mama is letting me get closer to her, and I've actually been able to sneak up on her and pet her.  She'll never be a pet, but I'd be happy to at least be able to pet her some.

Lil Mama's beebees are back where they belong.  They are starting to wobble around a bit, their eyes are completely open now.

It's cooled off here some, so I opened all the windows.....oh Lordy.......I had kittehs flying in all different directions doing the "OMG!!!!  FRESH AIIIIIIIIIIR!  FRESH AIIIIIIIIR!!!!" dance.  Smooch is still hopping all over just talking up a storm.  They were up in the windows, but they are now all sprawled out again preparing to nod off.

I think I'm gonna go back to bed and let them work themselves out..LOL

Wow!!! That's so scary when an inside cat escapes to the outside. I'm glad that he came back!! The first time that Pookie escaped I was beside myself with worry. Now I know that when he goes outside, he stays in our yard & comes back. Booga really isn't that adventurous at all. He might go out, but almost anything will scare him & make him dart right back inside.

I used to take my cats to the vet for flea baths. But they just bathed them with regular shampoo. Try some advantage or something like that.

I hate the flea bombs, because you have to take them & yourself out of the place for hours. Then come back, open all the windows & doors & let it air out really well before you can bring them back.

I'm glad he came back, Greedy.  Smooch got out on me in AZ, and that was the longest 24 hours I've spent in a loooong time!  He showed up unharmed, just really hungry and thirsty.

I have to be careful, because KB and Smooch are sneaking by me here all the time.  I take them out on their leashes, but they want out more than what I'm willing to let them out for.  They have no idea what a mean dog is, and outside, they are pretty open to any other cats there.  I thought for sure that Smooch would fight with Toby and Mama when they were on the back stoop, but they just walked right on by them.

When the two come back in from outside, Boo and Squeaks do the sniff test on them too.  I've tried to get those two to go out, but they have absolutely ZERO interest in the Great Outdoors!

I tried bombs last year- they did not work.

So yesterday- I opens the cellar door- the cat RUNS down the stairs- and plops into the flooded basement and zipped up the stairs all disgusted!   LOL

Gave her her medicine today-  she ate and now will settle in for a hard day of sleep.

I've had good luck with the bombs in the past, although I doubled up on them.

Amos is still hissing at Cashie.../and it seems the pecking order around here has shifted.. interesting...

I love that cats are carnivores. I'm always impressed by their hunting. I had a Siamese cat who had a litter of 7 kittens when we lived out in the country. When the kittens were old enough, she started hunting & bringing home all sorts of game

Yeah, or the slugs which summer hunted down during pregnancy
mum would love it, if she would still do that...

Otherwise my two big boys are the main hunters...pepper, a girl, just catches bugs, spiders, grashoppers and whatever those big flying ones above ponds are called...

Personally I'm not against them hunting...but I do feel a bit sowwy for their victims

My cat is following me around the house, trying to figure out why I am either crawling everywhere, or in a wheelchair.
Whenever I get out of the wheelchair she hops in, and looks confused as to why its not moving.

I was in a wheelchair for two months with a straight leg cast due to a fractured patella, along with some other fractures. Mr. Cat would jump up on the end table when he wanted to go for a ride, then I'd wheel over to him, he'd jump onto my casted leg & I'd take him for a ride around the living room. He loved it. Strangely enough, when I got the cast off & the knee was vulnerable, he never again asked for a ride.

I had one of the little kittens for a bit today.  Mama moves them for whatever reason she has, and the little guy was left in the bushes all alone.  I couldn't find Mama, but didn't want to leave the baby there, so I took him upstairs and put him in a rubbermaid bin in my room with a tiny bit of food and had to go to a job appointment.  Apparently, my talking to them and Mama may pay off, he heard me talking and he wobbled out of the bushes right to me.

So, when I got home, Mama was back behind the a/c unit w/her other 2 babies.  I came up and the little one was curled up asleep, and it looked like he'd nibbled at the soft food I left.  I took him back outside, fed Mama a bit, and stood by to make sure she'd accept the little guy back.  About an hour later, I checked, and they were all back in their original spot, and Mama was nursing them all.  I had even stopped and gotten kitten formula and a bottle, just in case she wouldn't take him back.  She knows me, and is comfortable with me being around her babies.

They are starting to play a bit, even tho they aren't at all sure footed.  So, I'm thinking I'll start putting a bit of mushy food down for the kittens, since the one was eating it.  Once I know they are eating it, I'm going to take them in.  {sigh}....I know I'll probably have at least one more kitteh by the time I'm through.....I'm trying to talk my neighbor into taking two of them.  I'm going to talk to the folks at a local facility about maybe getting a discount on spaying my 3 ferals here.  I can barely afford my own bills and rent, but I'm still going to try to get help in getting them fixed.  They aren't a shelter, but they provide services for cat colonies and pets, so I think they can help.

Anyone who has ever raised kittens from about 6 weeks old is more than welcome to share their advice for taking care of the little ones.  They are just so adorable!  Ultimately, I'm hoping for homes for all 3, my 4 are plenty, but no one's going to end up at the pound, either.
