Summer is back to normal now, eating like a pig and happy to be allowed to go outside again

Cats & dogs recover so quickly from surgeries. My ex husband has 2 kittens who got spayed a couple of days ago & last night he was all nervous about them being out & about & playing already. LOL

Jazz is enjoying the fact that his bag of food is big and makes a good bed.

I can't leave my food in bags like that.....Squeaks can gnaw thru the 4 layers of paper in about 20 minutes!  She'd rather eat it out of the bag than the feeders..go figure.  As it is, she will scratch at the plastic containers I keep the dry in until I give her a few pieces from it.  I think she thinks she's scoring "tweets" that the boys don't get.  Kittehs!!!!

BTW, what a pretty kitteh you have!

I think that lots of cats would rather gnaw through the bag, because what's in there is obviously much better than anything you might put in their dish. Mr Cat never did that, so I could keep his food right next to his dish. Then when I would empty the bag, he would go into panic mode. The last couple of years I fed into that for him; I assured him that indeed that was the last bag of food ever, I wasn't going & buying anymore & would certainly starve clean to death. And then I would go to the store & buy another bag. And he believed me every single time!!

I have the 2 catboxes set up for da Boyz now with the new kitty litter for "small spaces". We'll see how this goes now.

And that is a most beautimous kitteh!!!

Jazz, your kitty is adorable!

Angel is in one of her goof-ball moods. She is galloping around the house, jumping up on everything, and meowing loudly, just because she can. Misty is looking at her like she's a friggin' idiot.

Jazz (and I) thank you both for the compliments! As all my cats have been/are, he is a pound rescue. Someone abandoned him and his litter mates on the side of a country road and they were all near death from upper respiratory infections. God, I would love to neuter the people as well as the animals.

Your Jazz has markings that look very similar to a bengal or another exotic cat.  Sort of makes me wonder if they weren't an oops litter, and no one wanted them cuz they might be mutts.  My Squeaks was found in a dumpster, and as you can see, she's at least part Maine Coon.

Yes, I too hope that there is a special place in hell for all people who abandon animals of any kind.  Making one dependent on us, then just leaving them to fend for themselves is the ultimate act of cruelty.

This is her on cupboard patrol when I changed apartments......they are identical, yet the cupboards had to be checked for well, whatever it is they check for!  She might look small here, but the glass in the cupboard next to her is a full sized wine glass......she goes a good 20 pounds now.

I came home and found the neighbor's granddaughter feeding Angel pieces of left-over fried chicken. What a lucky kitty! I think she gets treats over there fairly often (though ny neighbor denies it) because I see small empty plates on her porch, and she doesn't have any pets. Also, whenever I can't find Angel, it's a good bet she's on that porch.

When the abandoned Angel showed up last year, I tried to get my neighbor to adopt her, because I already had two cats at the time and she gets on well with her granddaughters. But she's a fastiduous housekeeper and doesn't want pets messing up her house. But she evidently has a soft spot for Angel, even if she doesn't want her in the house.

Angel just discovered the third litter box in the office and started using it. Misty is annoyed because she no longer has her private bathroom.

That is soooooooooooo true...though, thank god...

I found 2 days ago a gorgeous cat den in a store and will buy that next week for spicy  Not sure if my dad will like that fact behind the armchair but at the same time I somehow doubt that he will even realise it...and if he does, well, in worst case scenario I can always store it in the garage (which, in this house, is more being used as another storage room than a place for a care).

Of course, if I would get this job on the 14th, then I would buy one for each of my cats...but for now its just for spicy cause he regularly gets his space taken over by the others...so he has earned now a space which is just for him and so for him only...I will post a pic next week, once i bought it

Angel spent several hours outdoors today. She (and I) are thrilled that the daytime temps are finally under 100 for the first time in several weeks. Misty is relaxing on the bed like she doesn't have a care in the world.

I think I traumatized Squeaks......I located all of their harnesses and leashes, and took KB and Smooch outside.  They got to meet the 3 outdoor kittehs, Lil Mama is in her protective mode, and KB got whacked for getting to close to her.  Smooch tried for the bushes where her kittens are, and she started to go after him, but I got him moved away.  The 2 of mine grazed like little cows and wandered arounf the yard.  A neighbor across the street saw them and he was amazed at thier size.....my 2 are bigger than his little Yorkie.

Anyway, the 2 boys loved it out there, but I wanted to be fair, so I brought Squeaks out too....Boo is NOT a lover of the outdoors at all.  She lasted about 20 feet from the steps, one whack from Lil Mama, and two cars going by before she bolted for the stairs up.  She is another window-sitter.  Perfectly content to have the glass or screen between her and the outdoors!  She bolted into the house and trampled over Boo and KB at the door and made a beeline for under the bed.  I had to pull the harness off her using the leash, I actually tried to pull HER out from under the bed, but she growled and dug in.....the harness popped off over her head.  {sigh}  She's off sleeping off her ordeal now...she wouldn't even speak to me when I went in to take a shower......I feel so baaaad!

And Lil Mama's beebees seem to be doing fine.  They are at the stage where their eyes have just opened up, she had 3, one gray tiger and two black tigers.....Toby is the daddy of this bunch.  I'm going to wait a bit longer, and then take them so I can socialize them and find homes.  My budget can't handle the cost of getting the ferals spayed, so at least I can get homes for the beebees.  It was sort of funny this morning.....she is taking care of them, but lately has taken to leaving them by themselves more.  She stays close, but I didn't think she was really taking care of them.  That changed this morning....I was out talking with my neighbor, and Sugar, her puppy got out when she opened the door.  Mama was at the end of the hedge/building about 10 feet away, as soon as she saw Sugar, she was RIGHT THERE over her beebees, all foofed and hissing.....we didn't even see her get there, she was so fast!  So, I know now that Mama IS keeping an eye on them.  Sugar wouldn't hurt a fly, but she did want to go check them out.....Mama was having no part of that!

I heard rustling earlier today & found Booga rolling around on the floor with a grocery bag that I hadn't put away yet. I looked in & it was the cilantro he was rolling all over trying to get at. Who knew that cats would like cilantro??? So I picked it up & got out the catnip & gave them each some. They played for awhile & then just sort of lolled around. They have managed to completely clear off everything that was on top of the ottoman so they can sleep there now. I really need to get a broom to pull all the stuff out from under the table that they tossed around. It's been pretty amusing sitting here & hearing things hit the floor. LOL It took them a couple of weeks, but the top just has a cloth on it now.

Angel is grooming herself again. I gave her the recommended four doses of Petromalt and it stopped her dry hacking. Now she just needs a "weekly" maintenance dose that I'll have to remember to give her.

Misty is sunbathing in the living room.

I wish I understood kitteh.....Smooch is just talking away, looking at the ceiling again.  He'll do that for a bit, then run around acting all goofy, then he'll talk some more.  He and KB want to go outside some more, but it's too icky hot.  I had them outside this morning....they checked out the carport and the cement driveway.....did the rolling thing, got all wound up in their leashes.

KB is pouting because I won't cave to his demand for wet food right now.  He's such a pain!  Woke me up from a sound sleep and everything....little snot!  Boo is prowling, and Squeaks is here spread out on the floor like a little bear rug.

Angel cracks me up....she didn't even know about the litter box in my office until a couple of days ago. Now she wants to use that one exclusively. Misty of course is glaring at her.

Maybe he sees a bug that you dont see? My Squeek used to find bugs and flies on the wall or ceiling, he would sit and stare at them and make a funny squeeking noise (well, more like woody the woodpecker sound actually). I would lift him up and try really hard not to drop him as he wriggled madly from swatting away at the fly.. He wasnt light either.. and of course I had to keep doing that until he caught his prey...

.. talking kitties are so cute...

Da Boyz hardly ever make a sound, so I know if one of them does say something, I'd better pay attention. I got the two catboxes, but they pretty much need to be in the same place, just next to each other. They decided the new one is much better than the old one. I love the new litter. It clumps so much better & doesn't stick to the box like the other ones did. And NOOOOO odor!!!!

Now if they would just stop shedding!!!

ETA: One day I heard Booga make a very strange sound & went to investigate. He'd been outside & brought a half-dead cicada in & dropped it on its back, then batted it & watched it turn in circles. After it died, he completely lost interest in it. Those be big bugs!!
