Greedy, it will turn up as soon as you buy the second one...it is one of the Murphy's Kitteh Laws......I've done this on several occasions for things for the kittehs.

However, did you check UNDER the couch cushions?  You'd be surprised at what kittehs can hide under there!  Tha'ts one of KB's fave stashing of goodies and treasures places!

couch cushions are firmly attached.. its a leather sofa.. NONE of the cushions come off.

I think the toy has gone to wherever it is kittehs go when they do the invisibility thing...

Ahhh, yes, that other dimension! Mr. Cat loved turkey to distraction & would sit in front of the oven watching it cook for hours, I guess making sure that it didn't escape. So after he died, I got another elderly male who also loved turkey. Come Thanksgiving, I put the turkey in the oven & waited for Marble to appear. The turkey started smelling really yummy, but no Marble. Time passed & no Marble. I'd open the oven door to basted the turkey but Marble didn't appear.

Finally the turkey was done to perfection & I removed it from the oven & set it on the counter to "rest", fully expecting that now Marble would come running, but nope. When it was time to carve, I picked up the fork in one hand, the knife in the other, looked down & there was Marble. Dimension travel, clearly! And I loved how he never wasted energy. What would be the point of coming into the kitchen before it was time to actually eat the bird???

Silly Misty was standing in the doorway of the kitchen, deliberately blocking Angel from getting to the food and water. Not that smart of a move, in view of the fact that Angel is more than twice as big as she is and could deck her in a heartbeat. Angel was patient with her today (not always). I distracted Misty so she'd get out of the doorway and Angel could go eat and drink.

This is some serious war....I was sitting at the laptop, trying to copy/download IE7 so I could put it back on the desktop....don't ask.....and had been ignoring KB's attempts to get me to feed him yet again.....and I feel something warm on my leg.....the little shit is backed up to me and he SPRAYED me!!!!!  He has never done that before, no matter how much I've ignored him in the past.  WTF??????  He ran off, I caught up with him and beat his little kitteh ass.  So, I go ahead and feed them, and he just sits there looking at it like it's poisoned or something.  (Tempting.....but no.)  He ate it, but it's not the normal stuff I buy....I ran out of money and cat food about the same time, and went to the local pet food bank and got some to tide me over til payday.....but they gave me the wet food in the packet, not the can.  And it's even good stuff, not the cheap stuff!  I mean, c'mon....my 4 outdoor kittehs are ecstatic to just get plain old dry food, the 2 boys and Sqeaks eat the dry just fine, but KB's getting pickier and pickier as he gets older.  It's not a dental issue, his teeth are fine, and he can chew the dry food fine.  It's just an attitude issue.....and a battle of the wills.  {sigh}  Which I lose more often than not.....damn cat plays me like a fiddle......I shouldn't look for a Dom, I already have one!

OMG, I can't believe what a bad boy KB was, soul2share. I had a male Siamese who would retaliate against me by peeing on the bed, spraying the laundry basket, etc. The final straw was when I laid out some clothes (my last clean outfit), went in to take a shower, and came out to find he had peed on my clothes. I thought that was outrageous (and found another home form him shortly thereafter), but a cat spraying his owner is just incomprehensible.

I just put 2 nice-sized piles of catnip down on the floor for da Boyz. They're lying there like bookends, butt-to-butt. LOL

Earlier, Booga was lying on his back in the middle of the floor so I took a couple of pics of him with the phone. As soon as I decide to take the time to get them from my phone to the puter & then downsized, I'll post them along with a few others. Dey is adorable, for being big enough for saddles!!

Yeah, Mystic, I was totally flabbergasted that he'd do that to me......I guess he was frustrated or something because I wouldn't give him food 6 times a day, or whenever he makes the demand.  When he gets pissed at me, he might go tear up a book, but he's never, ever done anything like that.

He did settle down, and came over to apologize when I was spot cleaning the carpet where I was sitting.  Of course, this was after I fed them........I swear, it's a battle of wills between the two of us..."how long can mom hold out before I frustrate her enough to feed me to get rid of me?"  I have yet to win.......dammit!  It's either feed him or I go insane from his headbutting me and whining and tearing of the books.  That's something new he's done lately.......and I value my books, so he gets the water bottle bath!

Soul2share, oh yes, the books. That Siamese I referred to earlier would also pull books down off the shelves when I wasn't home and chew on their bindings, effectively ruining the books, which also did not endear him to me.

Amanda the Malicious used to get up on the bookshelves, get behind the books, and knock them off the shelves on practically a daily basis. However, she didn't do any real damage to the books, just annoyed me.

Fortunately neither Misty nor Angel has any interest in books at all.

Well today Viktor discovered a new means for attention - he unraveled and shredded the paper towels.  I have to keep the bathroom door closed at all times for this very reason, but the paper towels?  Good grief.

Nueva, I've come home to find many a "dead" roll on the floor.  With the resulting "snowstorm".  I don't know why they get the urge......mine are always out on the countertop, they can sit there for weeks and not be bothered, and then suddenly, they become a threat to the well-being of the kittehs, and they MUST BE KILLED!  I have noticed that they will kill Viva towels much more frequently than paper towels.....I don't know if it's the difference in texture or what.  The Viva towels hold together better under attack, so they can actually beat the roll up, whereas the paper ones simply shread to bits.

Kittehs being kittehs, however, need no rhyme or reason as to why they do what they do.

I'm lucky, mine is out of sight under the sink, and KB leaves it be.  But he, or someone, has the ingrained ability to know when I've set the last roll out and they seem to enjoy knocking it into the toilet.  Like yours, Greedy, they do it right before payday when I'm short.  Actually, I'm thinking it might be Squeaks, as this never happened til she came along......a full roll of toilet paper can suck up all the water in the bowl!  And weighs about 5 pounds when you fish it out.  Kittehs!

I keep my toilet lid down because I hate the idea of all the bacteria spraying around the room when it flushes. Plus the fact that if the kittehs drink out of it, it can be very bad for them.

So far, da Boyz have no fascination for paper towels or toilet paper, tyvm. The toilet paper is out on a rack where they could easily destroy several rolls of it. But I think if my cats did like to go for the tp & I couldn't figure a way to break them, I'd be figuring another place to put the dang stuff. Just me.

When I brought their big bag of food home a couple of weeks ago, they tipped it over onto the floor. I just left the 5 lbs lying there for them to eat off when they felt like it. When my pain improved, I cleaned up their mess & filled the feeder again. They now think that they are definitely going to starve. *nods* Of course, I feed that irrational fear by telling them that they indeed are going to starve. hehehe

Right now my cat Maude is eating, then she will go out to fight with the other kitties that live around here.

Linnea.. I currently keep ALL tp rolls in a repurposed *grin* kitty litter container (lined with a plastic bag).

nephandi.. I am happy you, Aswad and Maude are well.. when I first got the info about the explosion (which was quite a bit after the fact,,,) I was quite concerned (then I realized you are not physically within blast distance...)

Hugs to you and he.. and scritches to Maude

LOL it's funny because I've had him 3 years now and it was the first time he had done that.  So now when I leave the house, it's:

Bedroom door closed?  Check (he hangs on the silky curtains and tears my closet apart)
Bathroom door closed?  Check (toilet paper party)
Dish towel covering the paper towels?  Check.

Other Viktor-proofing:  All cleaners on the top shelf of the linen closet.  Double sided tape on the shelves next to the TV (stopped him from jumping on the TV).  Anything bag-like must be put away.  Any small objects on tables must be put away or they'll be on the floor when I get home.

In my last apartment, I had to put kiddie locks on the cupboard doors.  Here, I didn't do that, but I had to put flour and corn starch in freezer bags (learned the hard way by coming home to open cabinet doors and a shredded flour bag...and LOTS of flour everywhere.

It's like leaving a toddler home alone.
