MrRodgers -> Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 6:08:04 PM)

I am thinking very likely not much new but there is always the chance. What I am looking for is a continuation of kissing wall street ass. The Clinton(s), the Bushes, all of the bit players not to mention most of the capitalist diaspora are not to be nervous I am afraid.

To suggest that yes, our first brown president and a vertically integrated dem congress would fall in line might disappoint our liberal or left wing compatriots but is also to suggest that we owe this all to the existence of the so-called 'Illuminati.' Now for me the mere term suggests all of the possible evil incarnations of cabal. Do we even go there ? I am not so sure...either way.

Today's advanced society begets such cynicism which begets suspicions that there can be some SuperGroup able to have presidents killed, war financed and started and could over time create dare I say...'new world order.' If Obama even casually stays the course, he will feed this perception.

Dern it...why couldn't this Obama speech thingy be on tomorrow.  American Idol is not on tonight because of the democrat gig!   You don't think Barack is gonna sing..do ya?

Sanity -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 6:19:23 PM)

There is no reason to listen to hims speak - he's already proven that his words don't mean shit.

Kinda like you and cory, nothing you say means anything and your also full of shit.

But then again, what loudmouth "conservative" on the internet isn't full of shit?

I've only run into a handful that actually know what they're talking about(which you most certainly don't)

Ah yes, so wonderful to have an open mind.

By the way, how many times are you going to post this same link?

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 6:36:17 PM)

I'm watching Magnum Force on AMC.  I click to the POTUS during commercials.  [:D]

Sanity -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 6:40:40 PM)

Cash Cab After Dark is on Discovery...

That link really bothers you, doesn't it?

Crush -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 6:56:43 PM)

How many Democrats does it take to change a light bulb?

Only one, but the bulb gets really screwed...

and to be fair:

How many Republicans does it take to change a light bulb?

Who knows?  They just buy another lamp...

Well it would seem to me it would be very difficult to discuss the speech with those who don't bother listening.....or bring a closed and contrary viewpoint to the exercise....oh well.Small loss in the scheme of things.

MzMia -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 8:07:29 PM)

I thought President Obama gave a wonderful speech.
I missed the first 20 minutes, and I am listening to it now.
I was happy with the economic plan that President Obama talked about.

Overall, I agreed with the majority of the issues that were discussed.
I am a bit apprehensive about his health care proposals, but I thought
the speech was encouraging and hopeful!

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 8:12:24 PM)

I watched it.  Since I've been alternating shots of Nyquil with shots of bourbon every couple of hours all day, not much really registered.  I'll read an authenticated text when a good opportunity presents itself.

Crush -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 8:14:32 PM)

No big surprises for me in the speech.  No little ones either.   He does "good speech" though.   I don't agree with him telling us to be more fiscally responsible and then bragging on this outrageous spending bill.   And I've just scanned the $410 billion proposal...not all of it...but it screams "Sooey....here pig, pig, pig...sooey!" to me.

Jindal was a bit disappointing.  He needed a podium, to walk a bit, or to sit down.  Definitely not one of his best.   And I think he's been "botoxed" since I never saw his eyebrows or forehead move.  I think he had some good words, but needed to apologize a bit more for the what the Repubs did in terms of spending.

ed to add:  8000-9000 earmarks?!  WTF

Well whatever your partisan bent...he kept the bankers and the great capitalist illuminati happy. What else is there ?

American idol, should I choose, does not effect my paycheck. Obama's new withholding...might.

Now that is an enlightened view. As for me, I listened to every word that Obama said. And THEN I sat and listened to every word the LA Governor said in rebuttal. As a result, I now am able to form an intelligent opinion on what was said. On the other hand, those who did not listen to his speech nor the rebuttal has nothing to bring to the table but foolish soundbites to support what they wanted to believe of the event before it began.

I hope they had something good on Cartoon Network to keep you occupied.

Sanity -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 8:49:52 PM)

Had you followed the link I provided you would have found that it has been fairly well proven that when Obama's lips are moving, he's lying. So why waste your time, pretending that what he says matters when it doesn't.

Ignorance is bliss isn't it?
It's like those that are proud of the fact they don't vote, and don't want to think

or discuss politics, etc.
I listened to President Bush almost every time

he addressed the nation, and I think he is one of the worse
President's America has ever had.
I listened because I wanted to have a clue as to what he was up to.
I listen to many of the "high profile" right wingers, especially Sean Hannity, because
I WANT to know what they are up to.
[;)]
Don't worry Spinner, the whiners and complainers will continue to whine,
regardless if they ever listen or read a word that President Obama says.

Sanity -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 8:54:29 PM)

Bush was different - when he said something, right or wrong, he meant it.

Obama only says what he thinks you want to hear and tomorrow it will be as if the speech had never even occurred. Pretty speeches, lofty words, but in the end utterly meaningless.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 9:04:48 PM)

I can not imagine not listening to an American President addressing the nation.
Even Bush.
Though if I were to decide to ignore such an occurrence,I certainly would hope I would refrain from attempting to comment on that of which I am ignorant.

snappykappy -> RE: Obama about to speak (2/24/2009 9:07:45 PM)

where can i find a link to read the speech
