LaTigresse;

While I can't speak for others, I KNOW there are several here who could vouch for the weapons in the house and the size of my Fur Baby. GT blinked when she met him and said he was bigger than she was..hehe. He was. He is friendly up to the point you piss Mommy off, then he moves you, if you refuse to be moved he regards you as a pit bull on two legs and chows down. On his hind legs he can stare 5'9 in the eyes and smile. Halloween before last, our doorbell rang at 11 and it was two teens (B &G)..Komodo and I answered the door ( and yes I suspect they had something else in mind other than candy but I couldn't see if there was a child with them through the door). Ko's head was at Groin height and I had hold of his collar as I passed them candy and they looked at him smiling at them, thanked me and left. He does tend to be a deterent. Such big teeth he has.

As for robbing us, it will more than likely be someone we let in..not someone from outside.

Here's how to store a large amount of cash at home.

Put a small amount in a place that's easy to find and the lions share in a damn good hiding place.
In the unfortunate event of the burglars popping round they will easily find the small amount of cash and having gotten their ill-gotten gains depart the scene. Leaving alone, of course, most of the money.

Got this tip on the Internet somewhere.

Do you keep a lot of cash at home?

Heh......I grew up with a couple guinea's who always had between 700-900k in cash stashed throughout the house. They couldn't stand banks or any type of conventional financial institution. Who can blame them......

Hell, my father owns a 140 plus unit apartment building with an average rent of 1100.00 per unit, and back in 80's/ early 90's when he actually used to manage it himself, there were times when he had piles of cash sitting in his office for days/weeks.

As for myself........I owned sports bar /club for over ten years and prolly used a debit card less than five times during that entire time period.

Why contribute to on onrushing cashless society, ceding control to an ever increasing centralized authority?

we are closer then we think to a cashless society.   I heard on AM radio last night, to have some cash in the house for the "bank holiday". if a bank goes down checks are not good...nor are debit cards.

as to gold, 4000 years ago, they thought gold was money.  today it is a trivial item, sort of like yarn hobbies.   I ordered some silver a while back, I STILL have not gotten my order. I guess unless you do ebay or an in person store, it is a wait.     that would not explain the spot price.  I notced on ebay a vendor is selling silver that he thinks will arrive in 2 weeks.   He is dreaming!    The mints dont go that fast.   10% of your wealth should be in metals.   also  I will shift to vegatables in the garden this year... I usually do flowers.

Folks, do not be fooled by day to day spot on gold/silver.  it is FAKE
