i been here a few weeks now, and i was wondering how online slavery works, can one truly be a slave without the Human contact? just curious!

Depends on the person. If this is purely a mental/emotional activity for you, then yes. If it needs to include some sort of physical interaction, then no.

Personally I feel that for any healthy relationship to exist there has to be at least some sort of physical contact. So, no I don't believe so.

But hey, thats just me.

It's definitely not for me. I have to have some kind of physical interaction, but to each his/her own. It happens alot apparantly.

I think we can be anything at all we want to be as long as we accept its limitations. For me, online would never be enough.

for me online is not a releationship, but more interactive erotica. It would never work for me, I expect a slave to serve me coffee in the mornings, not type about serving me.

I can't speak in general, but I can tell you that I don't keep online servants specifically because my kink is blood -- and I can't smell/taste/touch/draw blood on a computer screen, so I am completely not interested.

It depends completely upon those involved in the "relationship". If it is treated as simply online then it has distinct limitations which does work for some. If it is viewed as a long distance relationship then it leaves open the possibility of being together for visits, thereby taking the relationship to another level.

it won't work if what people think on a message board makes a difference to the online slave (or Master for that matter). folks can get pretty mean in their response to *i have a question/problem/dilemna* and after reading all about it, finding out that person is "online only" and not "real." lots (not all) of folks will eat them alive for that.

it works best as a precursor for real time. One gets a glimpse at what drives the other side of the slash and saves time when real time.

i feel the same as most here, without the Human contact too much would be missing. i guess some are ok with this type of relationship. chat email is a bit of a small gateway for 'the get to know eachother stage' as long as a real meet is the Goal for both, thanx again

Here's my take. Individuals, of course, will never fit into any generic sort of statements such as these.

There is no definition for the word "slave". So yes, you can be "something" without direct human contact. Being a little more specific let's look at the 3 elements of BDSM.

BD: Yup, this carries to some degree over an indirect communication channel. With some fair amount of attenuation, you can do this over the internet or telephone.
SM: Nope, not at all. No current communication technology carries the right sort of data... pain impulses, the smell of the sub's sweat, etc.
DS: The mental parts of this carry quite well over the internet. The physical parts less well.

OK, so the bottom line is that you can explore D/s pretty thoroughly (assuming you can find a non-flake partner to do so with) over the internet. You can only explore BD a bit. You can't really explore SM at all. Also, of important note is that even on the D/s thing, you can only go as far as the trust levels allow and it's really hard to see how I could trust someone I've never met face to face who has an entire life outside of what I know and interact with as much as I trust the woman who's lived with me for 13 years. There's a natural limiting factor there.

in reply to leadership, i like your take on this not many people really understand the possibilities.
Pain can be a part too, the slave has to be quite careful with itself though as their safetynet is limited obviously
Most people who play this way need video link or at least photographs but not all.
It all depends on which two people play the game; their imagination, trust and interaction can make it mind blowing or a total dissapointment...just like rt really
