 Knees here.

Growing up submissive in a Dominate family
I got to see what Dominance was all about.

But I didn't really ever get to see it out in the vanilla world. I couldn't tell who might of been and who wasn't Dominate?

Yesturday at work their was this Woman  who was probablly 5'8" tall. With her heels she was probablly
6'2" tall.

I work at the Bellagio Hotel, so alot of men would had seen her!

Would some of you consider that she might be Dominate?

How do you recognize Dominance in the workforce or vanilla world?

wow, i just need to wear heels to be Dominant? lol....... guess being able to walk in them would help too huh.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Clothing, shoes, words, do not make someone a Dominant.  Only sure fire way to tell is to ask them and that isn't always a good idea, especially at work.

Being dominant and being A dominant are different things... I am a dominant person myself, but "label" myself as a submissive.

Maybe she just wanted to get noticed...

So, what is Dominance all about? Do tell. Inquiring minds wish to know.

As for the woman in the Bellagio...there's a damn good chance that she just likes Really High Heels. Some of us ladies do, some of us don't. But footwear doesn't make the woman a Domina.

As for recognizing Dominance in the workforce/nilla world, here's what I've noticed:

Natural leader - i.e, people look to them for answers almost as an auto-reflex. They don't hop about going "look at me! LOOK AT ME!" or "OO! OO! I KNOW!". They just...know. And as an extension of that, do/execute.

Charisma - the ability to hold the room, or their audience, in thrall.

Comfortable with themselves - they make no apologies for who they are, what they do, or how they do it. Generally, they treat everyone with respect, but certainly not deference.

Knowledgeable of whence they speak - they keep their mouths shut unless they can speak with authority on a topic. They don't feel the need to have the last word on anything, unless they're damned sure they know what they're talking about.

There's some other traits as well that I can't think of at the moment. Keep in mind, there are people that have some of these qualities, but the ones I would describe as Domina/nt have ALL of these qualities.

Well, you could have bowed low in front of her and if she stepped on you... maybe...

And if you came from a dominant family... wouldn't you know?  I mean... well shit... after all that exposure, one might think you could sniff it out.  As for dominance in the work force... they are typically called bosses or supervisors or some such thing... but to look at someone and think because of heels... they might be dominant... omg...  Okay.... it's late... lol

Well wouldn't that make the 1970's the Golden Age of Domination?

Everyone wore heels then, didn't they?

Well this submissive is barefoot and monogamous, so I'd say you're onto something there Lockit!

But aren't all parents dominant to some degree?

It's okay, I'm in the 109 Club too.

I don't see any correlation.  There are many women and men in dominant positions in their careers who would much prefer to be submissive outside of work.

I am in a postion in charge of 4 to 5 people typically, but it's a whole different ball of wax in the workforce than in the home.  Some of the basics are the same and use the same types of psychology, but you are somewhat limited in the "tools" in the office.  (I don't see myself pulling out a crop and bending someone over the desk at work, but that could be fun! haha)

I've also seem quite a few profiles on here of people who say they are in positions of power at the office and wish to let go and be submissive in the home.

Just my 2 cents.

Nice seeing you in here monkey... :)

I have a daughter who is 5'10" and frequently wears heels. Doesn't make her a dominant personality or a domme sexually.

Funny ... but what fascinates me about a woman in high heels is that the mere clamping of the impractical shoes upon her feet immediately relegates her to a certain role of a woman who can no longer run quickly ... can no longer jump high ... can no longer physically maneuver in a way that a flat-soled woman can. In essence, it seemed the advantage of high heels is that it made a woman (slightly) more submissive, (slightly) more dependent upon others, and, well, yes (slightly) taller (perhaps 4% taller).

Heels as a requirement or signal that a person is dominant?  Well then, guess the two men in my life aren't really dominant because I have never seen them wear high heels--who knew???

I wear heels all the time, generally 3-4 inches though I also have some which are ‘stacked’ which mean they are even higher all while at my ‘vanilla’ job (and, no, I don't require 'help' to do so; I can even walk all the way to the subway and use stairs!!).  Naturally when I worked as a Pro, I was wearing 6 inch heels but that is a different story, naturally.   I propose that when she looked at you and you felt that she was “showing superiority” you were seeing what you WANT to see after all, that is what you seek.  While I don’t think anyone would be all that surprised to find out I was a “dominant” person (since I am as a matter of course in my job) that is not the same thing as me stomping around in my heels lording over everyone.

Yes but how old is she?

And I'm not saying everyone who wears heels is Dominate.
