*I just paid $4.09 per gallon. I love my small car.* *We had one call into work because they did not have any gas, but wanted their check. lol* *I hate speculators. I think Bush forgot to declare the rest of the country a state of emergency. If he did, we could control it some how.* *How much is it where you are?* *I am in South Carolina.*

I believe on the way up when gas was around 100 bucks a barrel the price was 3.29-3.49. Doesn't seem to have the same impact on the way down. These big business are the same few that are being bandied about for tax breaks and incentives. Show of hands, who is getting shovelfuls of money in working in the oil industry? (not stocks and speculation) but actually turning wrenches? 6

NC just over the state line from SC.. it was 3.35 yesterday... today, it jumped to 3.75!!! [sm=ofcourse.gif]

$3.61 after waiting 40 minutes in line, I don't expect to find that price again any time soon.

Wtf- it shot up overnight to almost 4$, I filled up before it went up anymore. Lynn- who always needs gas the day after a spike in prices

The other day it was 3.59 here in the morning and by 4 in the afternoon it was 3.95. They are blaming the rise on the hurricane.

This morning it was $3.77 and this afternoon it was $4.70. almost a dollar in less than 12 hours.

It just went up to $6.03 a gallon here, long lines and there are cops at the gas stations. It was $3.82 an hour ago

It went up here .40 some odd cents in one day I assume because of hurricane "IKE." That's PRICE GOUGING! If it isn't someone please explain to me what exactly is!

They better be careful here....the Governor nailed a whole bunch of them with huge fines when they did this after 9-11. Apparently they didn't learn the lesson well enough.

The funniest part of that is it will be a self fulfilling prophecy as they have just increased demand by how many folks? Everybody and their brother will be filling up everything they can while at the lower prices... Just saying.

I just got off the phone with my adult daughter in Alabama around the Anniston area. Gas there isn't just going up. She is searching for a station that still has gas! And here I thought I had it bad because it jumped over a nickle over night tawney property of Odin

[&o] I remember after Hurricane Alicia struck in 1983, my Dad returning home extremely pissed off after going out in search of a bag of ice because one of the local stores was charging $20 a bag. I'm crossing my fingers that we don't face more of the same after Ike is gone. ETA: $3.41 currently
