quote:
ORIGINAL: MissSCD It is the oddest thing. Gas in my town is now $4.19 per gallon. Gas in my slave's town is about $3.69 per gallon. This is going to have a devestating decline on retail. I guess we will come to a hault. How much are Americans willing to pay per gallon before they say enough is enough? Regards, MissSCD Well, the further south you are (where all the refineries is) the closer you are to disaster. As it happen the exchange of goods is centralized in such a way that it has nothing to do with reality, so some crud that knows nothing about getting gas from here to there freaks and says, all the plants that make gas are down south (somewhat true) and its all gonna get hit by a hurricane (which is somewhat true) and we are going to disrupt the common supply (that is not quite as likely) and jesus h fucking christ the world is coming to an end. In reality, the north has enough gas for current and future need, and natural gas is rather ubitquious out here, and while we will pay for your folly, the north east is heavy in fuel oil to heat, and ....... nah, fuck it.......enough.
