DesFIP -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/12/2008 5:01:48 PM)

$3.85 today. And yeah, I filled it after hearing scary stories about price jumps.

kdsub -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/12/2008 5:11:48 PM)

Once again your local  filling stations are sticking it to us. Most are full of cheap gas but have raised their prices over 50 cents per gallon..overnight. When asked  by a local news service why they raised their prices even before the storm hit they said they needed to get money to pay for their next shipment of gas which may be higher.

Sounds reasonable except earlier in the year when the same newscaster asked the same station why their gas prices remained high even though the price per gallon had plummeted.... he said will I have to charge for the higher  wholesale price I paid for gas.

So the bottom line... they are artificially raising the price now making outlandish profits... and will still charge the elevated or higher price for the new fuel...they are all a bunch of crooks raping America for profit..they could give a shit if our kids eat right or not.

I know a lot of so called energy experts will have a thousand excuses for big oil... They will say I just am too stupid to understand supply and demand...Bull... all I have to do is think...open my eyes and wallet.

Oklahoma City, OK - $3.29 / gal 3 blocks from home and $3.27 / gal 2 blocks further than that.  (That's out next to Tinker AFB area.)  Rest of the metro is ranging between $3.29 and $3.45/gal low test up to around $3.59/gal premium.

Lucylastic -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/12/2008 5:35:34 PM)

Considering the price of a barrel is at 100bucks stable, its bloody disgusting.
Considering that Canada supplies over 16% of the US oil, why are the prices going up in canada.we dont import american oil.As people have said its bloody gouging and speculators( bad bad nassy people)
This isnt a rant at Americans vs Canadians oil, I hear the prices in the UK have gone up too,
Overall its a bleedin nightmare

Yes, thankfully Sir filled up at $3.82. My son is a paramedic and the emergency workers got a head's up early enough that we managed to get in on the lower price. But tomorrow we are driving downstate for a play party and will end up burning it all up anyway. Hopefully it won't stay so ridiculously high.

It is the oddest thing.   Gas in my town is now $4.19 per gallon.
Gas in my slave's town is about $3.69 per gallon.
This is going to have a devestating decline on retail.   I guess we will come to a hault.
How much are Americans willing to pay per gallon before they say enough is enough?

Well, I'll be doing the 3-5 gallon at a time trick again.

Well, the further south you are (where all the refineries is)  the closer you are to disaster.  As it happen the exchange of goods is centralized in such a way that it has nothing to do with reality, so some crud that knows nothing about getting gas from here to there freaks and says, all the plants that make gas are down south (somewhat true) and its all gonna get hit by a hurricane (which is somewhat true) and we are going to disrupt the common supply (that is not quite as likely)  and jesus h fucking christ the world is coming to an end.

In reality, the north has enough gas for current and future need, and natural gas is rather ubitquious out here, and while we will pay for your folly, the north east is heavy in fuel oil to heat, and .......

nah, fuck it.......enough.

A lot of gas stations here have signs out now that says they are out of gas. It's weird....over $6 dollars a gallon in one town....and the next town down the road is under $4 still. It's hit and miss like that all over the state.

MissSCD -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/13/2008 6:35:27 AM)

All of that mess, and it turned out to be a cat one.   My governor is useless.  Wonder if we can get a refund now?

sophia37 -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/13/2008 11:20:55 AM)

383 here in upstate NY. But thats just today. I hear its going higher tomorrow. Then two weeks from now I hear its going down. Then I hear its going up a day later, then I hear it's going down. In the long term, its simply gone up a dollar I believe, from last year this time. It'll never really go down. Its just all meant to confuse us and make us forget what we pay.

Thadius -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/13/2008 11:30:42 AM)

**Fast Reply**

If you suspect a station or group of them of gouging prices... do a search online and find out where such things should be reported in your state.

Make sure you report these bastards.

BlackPhx -> RE: Gas Price Check! (9/13/2008 12:40:57 PM)

It's not just the gas..that cost is passed along in your groceries as well ..since most arrive via truck.

Sigh..I bought mid week at 3.52...it is currently 3.80 on the Space Coast of Florida and I suspect it will climb higher even though..

Oil prices DROPPED at Close on Friday to $101.05 a barrel a 13% drop from the previous day.
