Status: offline 		Masters - Just a quick question. What are your most effective punishments?

Status: offline 		For general "bad attitude" offenses, I prefer a sound bare-bottom spanking.  I keep a leather belt with metal eyelets for just such an occasion.

Status: offline 		I think there is a definitive line between effective and favorite.  If an activity is a favorite, I doubt I would use it in a clearly punitive fashion.  That would be reserved for play.  As for effective punishment, it is the one that produces the result desired.  It will be different per offense and individual.  I don't know that I can foresee enjoying punishment since it means I have been deeply disappointed and have to hurt and not in that fun way.

Status: offline 		Punishment is only effective if the lesson is learned. There are to many different forms of punishment that I can use to say what is the most effective. So it depends on what behaviour needs to be corrected.

Status: offline 		I'm not a master but I am a dominant... hopefully that counts. Punishment? The only one I would consider using, and only if communication hasn't worked, is that I treat them 'nilla.

I have a highly effective way though, and it works well with him.  To just sit him down and look at him coldly and say "I am very disappointed.  You let me down.  Why did(n't) you xxxxxxxxx?"  For him to see that look of dissatisfaction on my face and to hear my tone not being the warm, comforting sound that he is used to, leaves him a shaking, crying lump.  I hate to do it, because I have to see my Dear One in such a state as well.  But, sometimes, thankfully rarely, it needs to be done.

this one is my least favourite punishment.  and trust me, i sincerely try my hardest to never do .....  again.

Status: offline 		Favorite punishement? I don't like that phrase either. I don't like corporal punishment, since I don't think it's any more effective with subs than it is with children.

It should be creative, effective, and suit the offense. The "I'm disppointed in you" is the worst. If that doesn't get an instant response, you have a major breakdown in the Dom/sub dynamic, which punishment (in my never humble opinion) will not "fix."

This wouldn't work for me at all. I would probably get angry if I were ignored. That's not going to encourage me to change my behavior at all. It would bring back so much hurt from past relationships. It would do more emtional damage than anything. Then again, maybe I would feel differently if it were handled well. 

I fear the cane though so that would be a suitable physical punishment. Scolding would work too. I don't like to know that I've disappointed someone.

Well, when I was 9, my daddy made me eat broccoli ( I hate broccoli ) for a week because I mouthed off to my mama.

Worse punishment I ever received; taught me to never talk back.

Seriously, its just "eye for an eye", "punishment to fit the crime" and etc. However, I have one whip that is sooooooo ouchy, it even inspired people to quit smoking.  I don't force the slaves to quit.  They just have to trade one lash for one cig.  1 cig is the still that standing record.

That is the worse for me by far.... when I get the "pushed away" treatment I feel so ashamed... I then cant think what to say or do so I wait in silence to be called or given a way to redeem myself. Usually when he sees I'm that upset by it all (knowing I'm in bad books) thats enough punishment... he then strokes my hair and accepts me back to him again

I can't ignore anyone. I can ignore saplings that are irritating the crap outta me, well, not them, but their behavior. I can't even ignore someone I can't stand, I'm way to nosey for that. If my girl were to make me angry enough (not that I see that happening) then I would just treat her like 'nilla company. I would fetch my own drink, fix my own lunch and if I felt the infraction was that serious I would also offer to fix hers.
 
See, if she was having issues with me then chances are real good that she is having issues with her submission so I would show her what it would be like to not have that at all. For me it's all or nothing. But like I said, it would have to be pretty serious.
