At the time of my first wedding, a co-worker got married a few weeks before me. The cost of her wedding? $35,000. In 1987. The cost of my wedding? $2,500. Length of her marriage? 2 1/2 years. Length of mine? 16 years. Any relation? Not a damn thing. But I wasn't still paying off wedding bills at the time of my divorce either.....

My sister was married by judge and had a reception a couple weeks later at a bowling alley. It was a blast! Everyone had a great time. We payed for a tab for drinks, after that guests were on their own. We decorated the hall ourselves, and they even had a system to play our selected music.
