Parks are fabulous. Look for a park that has an enclosed pavillion you can book for the day. Sometimes the views are awsome, great photo ops, etc. For the reception you provide, say, just the meat, and then do a potluck and BYOB type thing afterwards. It will be lots more fun for the guests, especially if they have kids. On the invite list some of the activities available at that park, hiking, boat rentals, fishing etc. Also, advise them to dress down for their own comfort or bring a change of clothing. They will appreciate it. If there is a lake, tell them to bring their fishing poles if they want. This way, the whole day can be contained to one spot. You don't have to bother with a church at all and only one set of directions to give.
