Made it home okay.  Told Lizard to review some algebra at Math.com while I was being picked up.  Just waiting for the books to come in.

now she wants piano lessons...[8|]

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/18/2011 9:33:11 PM)

S2S, I am not sure what is going on with fashion sense today. Or in previous days. Many years ago I decided that I would wear what I thought looked nice and was comfortable. To date, I have never had anyone make fun of my choices. I do however see many with choices that I deem inappropriate. I have never cared for the lame look though.

Sorry that you are channeling me.

If it is any consolation, the back up dinner that I fixed was fantastic.

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 2:44:04 AM)

Oh I feel for you S2S...at my previous job I sometimes had my eyes roll but unlike other staff kept my mouth shut and minded my own business which wasnt the case from others when they liked to give inappropriate critique about weight or dress code....I reminded a few staff in the last few months of my employment to re-read their job description as I am not part of it. [8|]

Anyhow, my kitchen sink is fixed at last [:)] thank goodness...[:)] now i only need to find the energy to clear up my mess in there [8|]

Apart from that I had my temper tantrum today on my previous tv provider [8|] I know it wasn't necessarily the fault from their ladies on the phones but I didn't really care...they have sent me another bill with almost 60 bucks which is a pretty good insult, considering I didn't ever used their service over here since I moved and already paid a final bill with them over 28 pound some weeks ago...so needless to say...I wasn't pleased about that bill but got it out of their way...

the first time I called she asked for whatever password, which I don't know what it is (might have set up one at my previous place but fucking sake, thats over a year ago, don't bother me about that....have more important stuff to store in between my ears than that) [>:][>:][>:]

so the first one I spoke to got then funny with me not having my password, that she will get through whatever security questions with me...wtf??? I am calling to pay my fucking bill, which fraudster would do that for me??? [8|] I gave them my account number with them, my name and adress....so I had enough and hanged up....

a moment later I called again on their lovely expensive payphone number and spoke to the next one...she again, came to me about this password...so I said no...she went so far to say if I want to "guess" what my password could be....I said no!!! She said "you don't want to guess your password?" I said very fedup by now, no, I am not bored enough to guess whatever fucking password, I just want to pay my fucking bill!

Following which she backed off, asked not to swear and took my card details [8|][>:]

Fucking sake, what is that shit about trying to do marathons with me when I only try to pay their shit bill to avoid further action costs [>:] Fine to them if they earn on it keeping me on the line, but doesn't mean that I am willing to entertain them with that shit [>:]

On the plus side I got my juice mixer today and some food supplements, which means once I earned pro money I can start my juice diet at last [:)]

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 12:04:58 PM)

Well, Aylee, the chili I made is doing pretty good....it's on the second stage of cooking...waiting for it to come to a boil before I turn it off to rest.  Unless I get started early, my chili isn't ready immediately.....it has to cook on high til  it bubbles, then I let it rest for an hour or two, then I turn it back on to bubble, then down to simmer....it's an all day proposition for me, but worth the wait!  And I'm feeling in a cornbread mood, so I'll prolly do up some of that to eat with it....nomnomnomnummynomnomnom!

[image]http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/cauldronsmileyf.gif[/image]  <------stirs her pot o'chili......num!

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 4:01:28 PM)

Why is your chili green?

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 4:06:03 PM)

you've heard of green chili's??

It's red.....very simple recipe.  Cooking it is more complicated!

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 4:54:16 PM)

I was just teasing you because of the little icon.

So. . . had to go to Wally World today to get some things. Butterhead needed new sneakers. I found two pair for her. I also got her two new outfits that were on clearance and some paints for her.

We got home and the other half and Butterhead are going to the park after dinner. I go to put her in new pair of sneakers. The other half doesn't want her to wear them, because the park is muddy. What????? Well, the new shoes will get dirty. Argh!

So I get her into her old sneakers. The ones I despise because they are such a trial to get on her feet. It is not that they are too small, they just bite the big weenie.

Speaking of shoes, I had Butterhead in her red sequinsed shoes for the store. They slip on and off easily and I knew that I was going to need to try shoes on her. Those will need to be replaced soon, she has worn them nearly to death, but she loves them. We saw a friend there who has a 15 year old daughter. Comments were made about Butterhead's 'dress shoes,' and the fact she was not able to convince the 15 year old NOT to wear her 'dress shoes' today. My response was probably unhelpful. "Shoe choice is not an argument that I am willing to have."

I have shared photos of Butterhead's fashion choices. Maybe it makes me a bad mother, but I really do not care that much. If there is something specific that I want her to wear, then I will get it out, otherwise, it just does not seem worth it to get all stressed over it.

Last night she put a sweatshirt on under her nightie. I have no idea why. But what the heck, if that is what she wants to sleep in, it certainly is not harming anyone.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 5:01:20 PM)

awwww, the pics I have seen of her in all of her fashionista glory are adorable!  And her choices aren't any different than some of the stuff coming down the runway....Butterhead has the panache to carry the whole "look" off!

I always bought clothes for my son when he was little that matched no matter what I grabbed.....the last thing I needed was to have to figure out what to put on him.  I was satisfied that he WORE them!  When he was an infant, keeping him dressed was almost impossible sometimes!  If he got hot, off came the clothes.  Not the diaper or underwear, but the rest of the clothes....*POOF*....gone.  At least he comes by it honestly, I hate clothes too!

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 5:29:12 PM)

I buy Butterhead, "outfits." This drives the other half crazy because when I am home I am always commenting that the stuff he puts together is not an "outfit" it is parts of two or more "outfits." LOL

He cannot figure out how I can remember what goes with what. It is not really a big deal, only occasionally do I want to throw up a little at his selections.

Of course, I pick his clothing out as well. He dresses a lot better now than before we were together. [:)]

nah, its not that complicated...you just toss green chilli into red tomato puree...voila...there you go...your red chilli [:)]

regarding clothes I used to drive my mum crazy as a toddler...as I was very picky what to wear and couldnt care less if the colours didnt match....strawberry red and bright pink fits fine when I liked the individual pictures on those clothes....mum still tells me how embarrassed she was at times about my clothing but gave up to try to convince me to match differently as I would have given her hell for daring to run me over [:D]

today its much easier...as today i can't stand pink [:'(][:'(][:'(]

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 5:40:00 PM)

What does it matter if her clothes match? And sneakers go in the washing machine. Fighting over clothes is the last thing anybody should do, unless it's a special occasion. Of course, I well remember blanching at the sight of one of my daughter's outfits and sent a note to her teacher saying she dressed herself and I wasn't to blame for the color combination.

whilst I don't know what sneakers are, thanks for sharing that my mum wasn't the only one feeling embarrassed [:D]

If we are going out in public my requirements are: Is she clean? Is her hair combed? Are her clothes clean? Are they in good repair? (No holes or huge stains) Are they weather appropriate? (No snowsuits in July) Shoes and socks or sandals?

I agree, I see no purpose in fighting over the clothes. I think that it is actually good for kids and young adults to be able to make the choices on how they are going to look. This includes hair and make-up.

When I was growing up my mother told me I could get my hair permed, or I could have it colored. I was not allowed to do both at the same time. The reason, it is too many harsh chemicals on the hair and it is damaging. I know several people that think it is crazy that my mom helped me dye my hair black in 8th grade. I think that she figured it was much better to help me do it correctly then have me try and do it in secret and really screw it up. It is unfortunate that more parents do not see things this way.

I have a toddler that says, "Please," and "Thank you," does not hit, kick, or bite. Those things are important to me. Shoe choice and sleepwear, not so much.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 6:11:34 PM)

Now that Lizard is out of school, she will wear what she wants.  past 2 nights, she has worn the shorts that gives Daisy Duke a run for her money.
But then I ran around Bo's place wearing a sleep shirt and sweatpants. Bo has been giving me the look of "What have you done to our daughter"?

I told her to find some education books to keep up with her schooling.  She is enrolled with an online school and she has already took the exams and past with an 83 average.  Just need to pay for the exams and she will get her diploma.

I told her Latin teacher that I have ordered the books so she can keep her knowledge up on that.  T is offering of not only paying for a fitness gym, but also paying for her school.  I need to go down there to get her registrar for college.

I am tired...was a bit sick while Mom was steam cleaning the living room.  I see a green carpet now.

Tennis runners.

Gym shoes.

Reebok's.

Canvas All-Stars.

From what I understand, my mother was embarrassed each time one of us became old enough to wear make-up.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 6:23:01 PM)

Lizard got a pair of Converse (look a like) with Superman on them.

Man...she was wanting a camisole/pant set...I think her father will turn them down.

Noe that she is out of school, she is more relaxed, no longer looking over her back.  Certain people were getting her back about being bi-sexual or gay(assholes can't tell the difference).  Most of her friends think she is awesome now.

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 7:38:09 PM)

Does anyone know what happened to Thorny?

I have not seen her here or on FB lately. [>:]

outhere69 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/19/2011 9:01:39 PM)

I'm here, just haven't logged in for awhile.

I'm having a Sjogren's flare and it's really whacking me with pain and neuropathy.  It's been painful to use the computer at home and work's been insane.  I'm getting a wee bit better (no burning/tingling up to my hips right now, just numbness up to my shin or knee).

My bone marrow biopsy's Monday (for MGUS) and sometime this week I'll be getting IV treatment to smack the Sjogren's.

* whew, life with Vicodin...I see constipation in my future! *

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/20/2011 3:03:33 AM)

Haven't see her on this end...hope she is doing okay.

Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (2/20/2011 6:22:11 PM)

Where has everyone been today?
