Status: offline 		If I posted this in the wrong section of the board, then please move appropriately, but seeing as this is part off topic and part BDSM related I posted here.  And yeah, I am ranting.
 
What is it with people who visit this message board frequently and who still either refuse to adhere to, or don't know the TOS?  Is it because " you might be submissive, but you only submit to *insertlabelhere* "  or is it because you are dominant and you feel above the TOS?
 
I have lost count of those posts I have seen made this year alone that break TOS.  Why do you insist on answering the question, even when it breaks the TOS?  Why do you think and believe that altering a word or blanking it out makes one damn bit of difference on keeping the subject 'within TOS'?
 
New posters, you can kind of understand - the rules aren't obvious to find when you are exploring the board and eager to post and start contributing.  But the seasoned posters?  Seriously - I like being on CM.  I enjoy reading the threads.  Why do you risk getting a site you participate on regularly getting into trouble because you can't follow a few simple terms?  Are the TOS really that hard to understand or do you not believe they are clear enough.  What will it take for people to comply?

(edit to add coz asked - TOS = Terms of Service.  The rules of the board set out by the moderators.)

Katy gave a link and that works for me, but you only have to view the forum guidelines either at the top of the set forum, or the admin announcements to find the terms themselves.

Status: offline 		Having read them, and re-read the.dark.'s initial post i would guess my response is that people dont give a crap. I have noticed today especially some rows between members in regards to their lifestyle choices that have gone on to other threads and have manifested in what to me seemed like personal attacks, and that according to what I just read is against the rules. People simply dont care these boards arent overly moderated as some are and so they figure that if they change words or are subtle then moderators scanning wont find it so whats the harm I guess. People will always try to get away with as much as they can.

I don't perceive such a problem. I've not been made aware of such a problem and besides that's what moderators are for, it's nobody else’s job is it?

Well, it is difficult to show violations, because they do get reported and pulled by mods eventually when they are around.  I can see at least 4 but an example, there is a thread on spanking going on right now - two in fact - on on this forum one next door.  But can people stick to just observing themselves and their history  - Nope.  Now if I go into what they have not followed on TOS, I risk making this thread fall outside TOS.
 
I just don;t get why people basically click a 'yes I will follow these terms' and then expect people to respect their ideas, thoughts and even dominance or submission, when they can't even follow a few basics.

It's no one elses job, but it's our responsibility when we sign up that we agree to the terms.  So my question is - are the terms so unclear and do they need updating or why do people tick the yes box, not knowing the terms?  These are people I see regularly saying that communication rocks and that you shouldnt agree to getting into something your not willing to follow through on, and yet...

Everyone makes mistakes, that's a given, Lord knows I do.
So, some people don't know, don't care, or are pushing boundries without 'consent' ( I now you are gonna dig that OG) - then can and should other people reading their words, put any faith in their advice?

Status: offline 		It is easier to give advice than to follow it.  People who have had to struggle with how hard it is to actually do the right thing in situations tend to give better advice, because they know how frikkin tough it is.

So my, um, advice to you, dark, is: relax.  This is not your problem -- unless you are one of the people you are talking about.
