Popeye, lots of people don't think like that, they are just Indians, it's usually an intregal part of thier world view.  Spain, Ukraine, same place, just Europeons you know...  Tibet, Cambodia, just Asians.

You're wrong. the majority of Mexicans are indigenous to the Americas, Europeans aren't and anyway, as I pointed out to popeye and though you might disagree, most Mexicans don't, you stole California from Mexico which on another level gives them a moral right to it.

Meat, you missed the point old Bean.
How could they have gotten into the U.S. if the two fiercest Tribes of Indians, the Apaches and the Navajos oh, and I forgot, the Commanches controlled all that land?
Any Aztecs or Mayans would have been short work indeed for those Tribes.
They killed a lot of U.S. soldiers armed with firearms and they using bow and arrow!
In those days if you tresspassed, you died!
If any Mayan or Aztec Indians had made it up as far as the Rio Grande they'd have been slaughtered.
"Mayan" or "Aztec" are not part of any documented U.S. Indian tribes. They were 1,000 to 1,500 miles to the South.
Also, I think it was on National Geographic Channel, they did a study of ancient Indian bones that had been dug up.
Fourty percent of those bones had "Celtic" DNA in them!
That's an interesting figure! They did they same type of study in Iceland and found that, ...40% of the specimins contained "Celtic" DNA.
So your contention that "Europeans" aren't indiginous to N. America doesn't hold water.
In the town where I lived in Hampton,  New Hampshire they found Viking artifacts carbon dated to 1,000 years ago.
They named the street where they found them, "Viking Road."
Christopher Columbus wasn't the first European in "the new world" by a long shot!
We don't have a lot of "documented" history to tell us what happened in Europe before B.C. so who's to say but DNA doesn't lie!
You don't know your Indian Tribes.
Also, we won that land in a war.
Are you proposing that we give Germany back to the Nazis?

You're just adding to my point popeye, one can talk about the moral right to own land but in reality it is who occupies the land that counts and let's be honest here, the USA is fast having areas that are majority Spanish speaking with people with recent ties to other American cultures. If they decide they want to have closer ties with countries to the south, there may be little washington can do about it, the pure weight of numbers might decide it, just like the pure weight of numbers of Euriopeans swamped and killed off most native American tribes.

Nah you miss the point entirerly.  Htey are not just Indians any more than Spanish and Ukrainians are just Europeon.

Mexico (which was a Europeon Colony)  stole California.  That it was stolen by Europeons doesn't give it a sacred status to me.  I know it does for Eurocentrists.   The Aztecs never did.  Most Mexicans have some indegenous blood, so do a lot of Americans.  Albeit they have a higher %.

Popeye, there has been off and on contact between the Americas and the outside world throughout (pre) history.  Whats more Innuit ("Eskimo") peoples lived in much of Northern Europe, and some still do.  What do you think the White Gods refered to by the Aztecs and Mayans were?   Then there is the "Kenewick" Men.

I think you are missing the point lucky, one can talk about moral rights but weight of numbers tend to decide the outcome of territorial conflicts and American Spanish speaking culture is growing rapidly in certain parts of the USA and due to the prejudice they receive from the whites, many see themselves as different.

As for the mix of native and European blood in the Americas, north American Europeans can't have that much native blood due to the fact the majority of natives were killed in the genocide of the mid 19th century and now according to US census, make up less than 1% of the US population so there can't be that much mixing of blood. Apart from that, for much of US history they have been seen as untermensch, though I do know at one time, not too long ago, it got quite fashionable in the US to claim native ancestry, at least in part. (Every one wanting to be a victim and all that.). About 85% of Mexicans are from indiginous peoples and since prejudice is apparently quite rife in Mexico, there isn't a great deal of mixing of blood and since most poor migrate north, one can bet they are mainly indiginous Americans that migrate north. It is however convenient to dismiss these people and claim they have a moral right to no part of the US but many of the tribes originating in the US migrated south to escape the pograms and there must be some of their descendent that are migrating back north now. Particular cases in point, the Cherokees and Kickapoos from Texas. In fact 12% of the Mexican population are known as Amerindians, natives that fled south out of the way of the expanding US. That is around 12 million Amerindians, a greater number of descendents of indigenous peoples of the US than indiginous people that still live in the US.

Meat, "nothing" the govt can do?
That's what we've had for the last 16 years with the two "rocket scientists" from Yale. Nothing.
They've been derelict in their duties in this area.
Luckily for the American People the house and senate listens to us  and not the president in this area.
Of course big business wants "slave labor", why wouldn't they?
"NAFTA" has been a *disaster* for the people of Mexico as well as for the American People.
