PairOfDimes -> Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 6:18:51 PM)

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a wonderful problem. I play regularly with a delightful girl who processes pain very well*, responds well to play that challenges her pain-processing abilities, and quickly learns to process a given level and type of pain, growing eager for more challenges. Now, I like me some SM play, and she's a sweetheart generally, too, so this is a wonderful situation. We have explored together and enjoyed several methods of pain play--electrotorture of a couple kinds, stress positions, compression, and, naturally, impact.

This all sounds like bragging, but I promise, there is a small problem here! Lately, we've gotten to the most intense part of my impact play toybag--we're using the nasty little whippy synthetic cane, and the heavy rubber truncheon/baton/thingummy. And we're also getting close to full-arm strokes. While we enjoy other kinds of SM, I want to be prepared to move to higher-intensity impact play, as we like impact play and I think that could be fun. Now, I'm not going to get significantly stronger soon, so the answer seems to lie in toy shopping. Kind people of the collarme boards, what are your favorite high-intensity implements? Is a different configuration of rubber the best option? I love rattan, but it's fairly light, even in diameters greater than 1/2 inch--are there other woods that you would suggest? I like rod/cane implements best, but perhaps I need to explore other shapes more intensely--would paddles work well?

Thanks much!
PairOfDimes

*Delightful Girl, if you're reading this, I realize that we have talked about your approach to pain, and that's why I'm using these words, rather than "masochist."

Uhhh, the smartass in me is saying, "have you tried a steel shovel?  Cast iron skillet?"

Cali

PairOfDimes -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 6:35:31 PM)

LOL! Yeah, it does sound a little funny, doesn't it. But a cast iron skillet, in all seriousness, might be an interesting idea...or, at least, inspiration for one. I hadn't really thought about metal.

xiam -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 6:45:23 PM)

While we're talking kitchen utensils... might i recommend the Williams Sonoma stainless steel slotted spatula?  I, um, speak from experience!  [:)]

PairOfDimes -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 7:06:41 PM)

Thank you, xiam! This is the sort of thing that makes me glad I have a reputation among friends and family as a picky cook--I can explain all sorts of things as kitchen implements. Including, as it sometimes turns out, kitchen implements. :)

SweetSarijane -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 7:29:45 PM)

Have you tried rubber floggers? Not the thin string rubber band kind, though those can be wonderfully nasty, but a thicker fall rubber flogger? I speak from experience in saying they freaking can reeeaaally hurt lol. Thin synthetic material canes of varying lengths can definitely get one's attention also. Tried evil sticks? Just a couple off the top of my head that I have love/hate relationships with and can be used at varying strength swings by the top for different sensations.

Edited to add singletails, buggy whips and quirts if you have experience and knowledge in using them.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 7:43:15 PM)

The issue is really- do you want it to hurt, or do you want her to still enjoy the pain?  And, do you want to keep doing it through impact?  Knowing the answers to that will help focus my responses.

PairOfDimes -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 8:36:11 PM)

Yes, I want it to hurt. No, her enjoyment of the pain isn't the point for either of us, as I understand our goals.

Yes, I'm interested in ways to do it through impact. I think non-impact methods are fun, and we do those, too, and I'm always interested in discussing that. But I'm interested in impact for the purposes of this thread--I haven't yet bumped up against the end of my hurting-people skills or toys in non-impact options, just in the beating stuff.

PairOfDimes -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 8:39:15 PM)

No, I hadn't thought about thicker rubber floggers--thank you!

Yes, we do evil sticks often, I should have mentioned those in the OP--you're right, those are fantastic!. I do have a singletail, and we've done some singletail stuff in the past, although not much recently. Perhaps I need to break that out again.

SweetSarijane -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 9:03:02 PM)

Singletails are so versatile in that they can be sensual, stingy, or fiery burn steal your breath <grin>

Evil sticks are evil lol and I have a love/hate relationship with them. They are an attention getter on the bottoms of the feet too.

Tried the bristle side of a hairbrush?

Indeed! Have you tried evil sticks on the hands? I can't decide whether I like hands or feet better. They're fantastic on more, er, intimate parts, too, but you almost certainly know that.

Hitting with the bristles? No, but I've used them for abrasion. Interesting.

thick leather paddle, which is fluffy on one side, it feels absolutely divine on the fluffy side, then without warning turn it over and *whack*

mistoferin -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 9:50:30 PM)

This may sound a bit odd but...
I don't know what they are called but you can buy these long foam toys that are made for swimming in the pool. Sometimes they come with a hollow core, if not you will have to split into it. Anyway, take a broom handle or thick dowel rod and put it in the center. It may sound kind of fluffy but for very deep impact play it is very intense. I have definitely had some very serious bruising from them. They also make foam covered baseball bats. YUM !

ItzKat -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 9:52:36 PM)

I recommend the TomCat http://www.mr-s-leather.com/W306.html... it is a lovely whip that has the control of a single tail but the wallop of a flogger.  Yummy.

Also, sjamboks are definitely in the more intense range.

Jeezus Erin my Master just told me he ordered one of these and is happily awaiting its arrival.  Two people have already told me I will HATE it.  Egads.

I agree with the rubber flogger comments.  My Master has three of them in farious widths.  I call the heaviest one being hit with his spare tire.  Man, talk about coming down with a heavy, hard thud.

I recently presented my Master with a few new toys, one of which being a knotted and beaded flogger.  The very second it came down on me, I shrieked, "Oh GOD, I think I made a terrible mistake!!!" [:D]

But that sjambok....as a pain wimp, I'm nervous as hell about that!  [&:]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 10:25:37 PM)

The sjambok is actually pretty cool.  Yeah, it's riot gear and you can use it to rupture internal organs, but in bdsm use it's like a heavy cane.  I advise your Master to practice first on a non-living thing, if he has never used it before, the weighting of them is unusual.

I have this rubber strap from Adam & Gillian called the "Slick Slim" which is super fun, easy to handle from the top's perspective, and can leave awesome welts, deep bruises, and serious afterburn.

ownedgirlie -> RE: Heavy impact (SM) implement recommendations? (12/1/2007 10:36:14 PM)

He also has this mace-like rolling pin that he runs up and down my body.  This big leather coated roller with lots of sharp metal spikes coming out of it.  *shudders*

Thanks for the sjambok tip.  I think I need prayers, lol.

In that case yes, you are going to HATE it. I'm so sorry.
