Status: offline 		That is silliness in my opinion.  You will have no more or no less luck identifying as either.  Just keep in mind it takes time, lots of time to find the one just for you.  You need to identify yourself with what you think fits YOU best and then find someone who will want you for those qualities.  Don't sell yourself short.  The moniker you give yourself should be somewhat explained in your profile in my mind.

Status: offline 		Just my opinion, of course, but I'm not sure that the label means much, though slave often does have a particular connotation with regard to levels of control you desire.  Why don't you try describing the sort of relationship you are seeking and perhaps the label will define itself.  From your journal, you are very articulate, so if I were you, I'd expand on who you are and the relationship you seek in your profile.

Status: offline 		It's my feeling that you should label what you think most accurately describes yourself. You should know yourself well enough to know if sub or slave best describes you.

Status: offline 		I suppose were your profile to read, "Loving, caring Master sought," with a description of what that means to you, that would be the main thrust of your search. I see a big difference between submissive and slave, the latter suggesting a kind of dependence that, in the wrong hands could be dangerous to you.

Firstly, you should be sure of yourself and your own particular worthiness. That will attract people, no matter who they are looking for. You have particular talents and capabilities that recommend you without a Master. Perhaps the person who suggested that you change how you describe yourself is unsure of what it is that they seek and is offering you a suggestion based on their own insecurities.

Be who you are and be that excellently. Your own personal excellence will draw what is right to you.

You have to decide for yourself whether or not slave or submissive fits your personality, your character, your mental and emotional make-up.  Now, it is true that others may disagree with you but that is going to happen no matter what you call yourself...as has been said on these threads before, one master's submissive is another master's slave.

It has been suggested that you might put more in your profile about what you seek in a master.  I agree with that and would also add something that, if you hold true to the name you have given yourself, explains what elements of that name you identify with.

More importantly how do YOU feel. Did it make you angry at the suggestion, curious, afraid?  i ask out of curiosity.

Status: offline 		It doesn't matter- if you make it into sub, you'll get a bunch of guys trying to seduce you by telling you that you really have a "slave heart" to make you feel cooler and more special.

There's always people who will try to tell you that you aren't who you say you are.  If you want to get into an adult lifestyle, you'll have to be able to make choices and stand for yourself.

You have had some wonderful, up front answers for this post.   I can't do much more than concur and sympathise.  I "label" myself a dominant because the vast majority of my search has been for a personal slave of my own.  I am Owned, I have a Master, but I do not feel that I am defined by my role but by who I am.  So I use dominant, not to catagorize myself, but to show the interest in what I seek on Collar Me.  Do not let the "labels" here define who you are - but let it define what your search entails.  When it comes to defining who you are - only you can do that.  And remember that a good master will define you, not on your role or your "labels" but on the wonderful personality traits that make you who you are, and make you suitable to his/her personality.
