I'm not sure I'd describe that as "common sense," but I agree that one's "bullshit meter" can be improved through experience.

I think you need common sense to function in a society but intelligence to excel. I’m pretty sure it is the same way in this lifestyle. But we should all take into account the change in judgment when passions are high. Butch

Dear KnightofMists, Ladies and Gentlemen; To me, the saying of "No common sense" also must to some degree equal to common knowledge. To attempt to have 'common knowledge' in an uncommon area, such as a novice in BDSM is not due to the lack of common sense--it is the unequal measure of common knowledge to use in making their decisions/choices, leaving them in the area of judgemental standards of others--lacking.
