General reply to nobody in particular. Jared Diamond touched on this in one of his books, I think "The Third Chimpanzee" as well as an article in Psychology Today last year. Lying is something which is almost universally reviled as a proper behavior pattern in modern societies. On the other hand, after thousands and thousands of years of evolution, the behavior has not been natural selectioned into oblivion. The only reasonable conclusion is that being able to lie has survival advantages for the individual. I dont actively lie anymore. My father is almost sociopathic in his telling of little white lies, and I have seen the damage those do. On the other hand, I also do not always take the 100% honest and painful truth method. The approach I take now is to play my cards close to my chest, use my poker face, and saying nothing. Which I suppose might be one other way of lying. Sinergy
