At Bounty's this morning -
 
Sliced side meat, sausage, pork chops.
Fried potatoes, buttermilk biscuit, white sausage gravy
Homemade blackberry jam
Hominy, hominy grits
Eggs
Milk, Juice & COFFEE.
 
i've been reading a book called Appalachian Home Cooking: History, Culture, & Recipes.
 
this girl is going to weigh-in at WW BEFORE eating breakfast.

this girl lost another 2 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks.  YAY ME!  The total is now 41pounds since last summer - a year ago.

Dinner?  Hmmmm?

Well, I posted that pork recipie.  But you might think about rice bowls.  A serving of rice, a serving of beans of your choice (I like black) salsa, lettuce, sour cream (you can use low-fat), and cheese (again you can use low fat.)  It is very tasty, and the rice and beans combined make a complete protein.  Low-fat also if you use low-fat sour cream and cheese.  The salsa can be homemade or store bought.

Ya know, I am not sure why so many people think that every meal needs a big ole meat course.  Yes, I do know that protein is important to people's diet, but for pete's sake, I think that lots of people eat too much of it. 

The one's that REALLY chap my ass over this are parents that do things like eat all the meat out of an order of beef and broccoli, and leave the veggies behind and then are AMAZED that their children won't eat veggies.  Talk about driving me NUTS! 

Every lunch and dinner at my house is served with a veggie.  (Okay, I know that peas and corns do not really count, but I like em.)  And many meals are served meatless. 

Why can't people at least serve carrot and celery sticks?  They sell them all ready prepared at the store!

Well. . . that is my rant for the afternoon.

Well, Aylee, where I'm going they have Pizza Hut, McNasty's, Starbucks... And western stores... What I really love are home made cards, photos, anything kind of creative (no pork, porn or pints!)... but things that are full of joy.

I have a gazillion things to do in the next 3 weeks, not the least of which is get my sorry butt to Wash DC and get all my embassy stuff done.  sigh.  Anybody got some magical powers they can lend me?  Thanks...
