Just close your eyes, Mr. B. It looks and smells like the real thing. The taste, well uh, it's an acquired thing [:D][:D]

Aylee -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (8/26/2009 9:48:14 AM)

Good Morning All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just dropping by for a cuppa and to drop off my latest creating from the kitchen!

I  have some crossanints here. . .some have an orange glaze and some are "savory" and are filled with artichoke hearts, spinich, and cheese!

Years ago, I went to a pizza place with a friend of mine. . . I suggested the artichoke heart and spinich dip as an appitizer.  My friend procedded to get rather upset at the thought of it.  She did not want to eat the heart of any little cuddly fuzzy animal.  It really did take me a while to convince her that an artichoke was a vegetable.

A day or so later she came home and saw a cage on her dining room table.  Her husband and I had "captured" a wild-artichoke for her as a pet.  (We added little googley eyes to it even)

It held a little sign about being an orphan because we had eaten its mother.

After being told that we were NOT funny, it took even MORE time to convince her that what was what an artichoke looked like.

Enjoy the snackers all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pork Au Vin (An Aylee production - All from my brain)

Pork Butt (4-5 lbs)
2 Cloves Garlic
Tbsp - Oregano
Tbsp - Thyme
Tbsp - Basil
Tbsp - Italian Essence by Emeril
8 oz. Mushroom sliced
1/2 - 1/3 bottle of Chianti
Chicken Stock (fill up to recommended spot in slow cooker.)
Tsp-Tbsp Kosher Salt

Put mushroom in bottom of Slow Cooker (use slow cooker bags)
Rub Essence into Butt (which is actually Pork Shoulder)
Put Pork into Slow Cooker
Add Wine
Add enough stock to get to Cooker's recommended levels (about 1/2)
Add rest of spices
Put on slow cook for 8-9 hours.
Pork will be falling apart so be careful
Liquid can be thickened into gravy (if you are not on Atkins) or reserved for other purposes

Serves many
Tastes great with Caesar's Salad
