OK so my partner is going away for 44 hours to see his dad in Houston.  He does this on a nearly monthly basis, and this month I'm not going with him.

Why is it that everything I'd want to do seems totally pointless and boring without him?

I know I'll probably go out and do stuff and have a good weekend (cleaning the bathroom, woohoo!), but I'm just so pathetic without him.

No, missing him would be "Hmm, that's sad, wish he were here."

Pathetic is "What's the point of eating this chocolate bar if I can't give him a taste?"

That's so where I am.

Probably the same reason that we think of all the things we want to do ,or accomplish when we have our personal time and space at our disposal. Then when we go to dinner without the UM's for the first time in months, and they are all we talk about. LOL

Darcy is away on business for a few days right now and I am completely lost - hence mega posting here the past couple of days.
(Plus I am currently obsessed with carrying my 'phone around for his regular calls)
I really should be more productive (but I was on hands and knees scrubbing bathroom floor this morning ).

It's not that you can't do anything without them around, it just seems all pretty pointless and empty when you cannot share the experience.  Life doesn't stop, but it sure as hell moves slower.
Yeah - feeling pretty pathetic too - where the fuck that bottle of merlot?

Mmmm.... that's an idea.  I have a large bottle of Amaretto that might make good company tonight.

I was cleaning out my cupboards and organizing my kitchen and I found a Costco bag of semi-sweet chocolate.

Not having anything better to do, I made a chocolate sauce and dipped strawberries and banana in it, then stuck them in the fridge.

Going on what I normally do, I might even eat one after dinner and then I will take them to dispatch on Sunday and feed them to the other Neanderthal.

I like cooking.  Not all that crazy about eating.

LA ---

Perhaps because I could vanish for 44 hours without anyone's noticing, I really think your reaction quite lovely and touching.

Cheers,

Well it's nice to know I'm not completely alone in my patheticness.

I'm sure all the ones in extreme long distance relationships just want to smack me now (wink @ Kyra)

But you know, I'm thinking maybe I'll hang out in some chat rooms tonight, that will likely take me to a whole new level of pathetic really.

Of course, for truly pathetic, it's hard to beat the Mod XI thread in General BDSM Discussion!

LOL well I'm not really, but there's been rumors around for months.  Some even say they have clear proof of it which is hysterical because I KNOW I'm not Mod 11 so whatever proof they have must be great!
