Never blocked anyone on this side...but on the other side....I had to.  I do try to reason with people, but unfortunately we do have people that like to harrass and get nasty so thus they get blocked and I move on with my day

Happy Holiday Everyone!

i can see blocking email that is unwanted but blocking on a forum is sort of funny and i have always read that as the blocker lacking the self control to skip a thread or a post they do not wish to read.  i have yet to block anyone LOL

gooddogbenji -> RE: Blocking People on the Message Boards (5/26/2007 10:19:58 AM)

I blocked someone once for about 10 minutes.  Then I realized that the message "post by XXXXXX blocked" only made me more curious.

I tend to skip a lot of posts mostly based on length.  The short ones I'll normally read....

benji

I tried to block myself once, but I got a message from Mod11 telling me to knock it off.

WTFOMGBBQQQZORZ U R A NOOB

This delightful bit of insight now articulated, I'd like to say something equally, if not even more, robust in its usage of the finer points of the English langauge:  meh.

That's right.  Meh.  Same thing I think when someone tries to annoy me.  So, it's no biggie.

Besides my little brother's puppy that I'm taking care of.  Little thing.. so cute.. but pees indiscrimatinately..

No, no, no Passion, I knew you were joking!
I should have made a separate post, I have to start being more clear.

I wasn't sure so I thought I better explain myself.

I understood that part.
I just don't happen to care for it.

neither way is right or wrong... just different... enough said

ADD tends to do that to you...  [8D]

I am the same way..  I read the first paragraph.. If it is apparent that a point is to be made I will often continue.  However, if it is just the person repeating the same thing they have said a zillion times, or it is just a cut and paste operation, I just skip it.  Or, if it is evident in the first paragraph that they are so far out in left field that it will take them a week to walk back to the dugout I just skip it.

I can not stand when people are in a debate and go "I am blocking you, so there..."  Retarded.  Grade school material.  Even worse is the ones that announce they are blocking them and then keep replying to them.

To be truthful, there is almost nothing on here worth getting upset over.  I mean, "My cat just sneezed!!!"  WOW!!! Holy fuck!!  That must have had such an impact on your daily life!  As a matter of fact, it is so important that it was worth announcing to the entire community so we could all revel in the mystery that is a cat sneezing.

Or retarded conspiracy theories..  I dunno.  When I leave here I can not honestly say that any impact has been made on my life.  It is more like mindless drivel and entertainment.  It really is incredibly pathetic to see that it has such a dramatic impact on so many people's lives.  I mean, how fucking LAME and pathetic does your life have to be where a couple of words on a message board can topple your house of cards?  So it is not really worth blocking the majority of people.  Except Ron.  That guy is an asshole.  [:D]  lol

Based on that information alone & the fact that many of my post are not quickies.. you probably have no idea who the hell I am.

Allow me the oportunity now to introduce myself & say hello

i have blocked a couple of people on the forums, in both cases because of repeated personal attacks. as much as i hate to admit it, i can be overly sensitive and such things really do hurt my feelings. so to spare myself i just put those people on block. never had to block anyone on the other side tho, but then again my Master handles most of my correspondence there so he could have people on block without my knowledge.

Same here. I have never blocked anyone on either side although I am sure I have been blocked by some (one in particular I can think of). I am perfectly able to skip reading things that I do not want to read and will reply to posts that interest me or I feel the need to respond to. I post as I feel and I don't feel the need to change what I post for fear of upsetting anyone. I have my own views on things and if they do not like them they can tell me they don't or move on.

However on my yahoo messenger I made the mistake last week of telling someone I did not believe in God. Unfortunately he was a muslim and got really upset by the idea the someone could possibly not believe in Allah so he went and posted my yahoo id on a religious chat channel. My yahoo block list has grown by over 300 in the last couple of days!!!

So try hard enough and someone just might be bad enough to make me block them on here, but boy will they need to be REALLY bad.

FullCircle -> RE: Blocking People on the Message Boards (5/26/2007 11:28:25 AM)

Funnier is people feel the need to announce it to those they block in a kind of ā€˜I’m having the last word way.’

Misstoyou -> RE: Blocking People on the Message Boards (5/26/2007 12:30:53 PM)

I have blocked two persons in the course of my time here on the forums, (the individuals seem to come and go) not simply because I found what they wrote annoying, but they wrote *so much of it* in each and every post and I got tired of scrolling through the mass of words to get to the next post.

Basically, I'm a lazy Domme. [:D]

UtopianRanger -> RE: Blocking People on the Message Boards (5/26/2007 1:45:07 PM)

Heh.... I have one poster blocked..... not because of the reasons most here would give, but simply because this person is so damn politically correct I find them annoying.....and I mean really phony and annoying!

I spend my whole day in a politically correct environment....the last thing I wanna do is come here late at night and read a bunch of phony, politically correct garbage from some weak person desperate to score points with the status-quo.

Ya'll have a good holiday.

So far, I haven't felt the need to block anyone. But I confess I skim a lot of posts.

MzMia -> RE: Blocking People on the Message Boards (5/26/2007 9:07:12 PM)

Aww Misstoyou, I find myself getting lazier and lazier....hummmmm
Let's call it relaxing on the message boards.
