Okay, I see the blocking post, but I need to be more specific. Do you block people on THIS side, on the message boards? I have several people here on block and it has made my life easier. [:D] CM put the block feature here so we would NOT have to read messages from people that annoy us and will probably always annoy us. Is it better to argue, or try to change adults that will probably never change, read crap you hate or use the block feature! Feeling brave, and also on my way out soon Hit me with your best shots here [:D]

Nah, I am more of the type to be blocked than to block... I just don't give enough of a fuck. Apparently, blocking is within TOS but tackling is not. Ron

When I first came here, I just found you too harsh. Now, I see that is your board personality. I can read most of what you post, but sometimes it is just too much for me to handle. I am a delicate flower and some of the things you type frighten me.[;)]

I've never felt the need to block anyone. I've never felt personally attacked on the boards, and even if I did, I doubt it would lead me to block the person. I have been a bit put off by some people's posting styles especially when I first started posting to the boards. But, over time, this has bothered me less and less. Once I get a sense for a person's posting style, I think its easier to take them at face value and appreciate them for what they are even if its different from my own style.

eh I had to unblock MzMia just so I could read her opening post (just kidding) I don't block anyone on the boards... it's just words on a screen & it would disrupt the continuity of the thread to have big holes of missing information in it from people you chose not to read. Forums are not somewhere I would block however I will block people from writing to me on the other side.

I haven't blocked anyone through the boards, or the posts they have made. Through email, that's a bit different, as there have been a few that just couldn't take "no" for an answer when I said I wasn't interested. The count is still fewer than the fingers on one hand, so as far as blocking goes, I think I'm doing well with not needing to use it. With the exception of that funny line (forgive Me for not being able to give credit where it's due) about the Goddess of Blocking.

I've never felt the need to block anyone on either side of Collarme. I have been involved in some pretty heated debates and I'm fairly certain that there are at least a few folks here who aren't very fond of my opinions...but that's ok. I don't come here with the expectation that everyone is going to like what I have to say or agree with it. I take what I can use from here and throw away the rest. There is no one here that has power enough to actually upset me emotionally. That is not to say that I don't value others or consider their opinions. That is not to say that I don't sometimes think that some are just flat out full of shit. I'm in control though of what I choose to carry with me when I walk away from the monitor...and sometimes that is a new idea, a pearl of wisdom or a smile (and sometimes those things can come from the people I disagree most often with)...but it's never been anger or hurt feelings.

How about a third option: I find it is better to allow people to have their own opinion, even if you disagree with it completely; even if reading it really annoys you. After all, why should it annoy you anyway?
