First off I think an introduction is probably in order. My name on CollarMe is HypnoticPhantom due to the fact that I love the Phantom of the Opera (the stage play more than the movie) and I am also a Certified Hypnotist with the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, which brings me to my discussion here.


I am what is called a Hypno-Dom which means that I tend to use hypnosis in my play sessions, and it is here that I think some people may be afraid of what that all means. It basically means that I can (with the help of a willing partner) cause them to feel any of the sensations of any toy and / or device in the D/s world, even if they've never experienced it real time, I can have them imagine what it would feel like. With the right people, those of strong imaginations, it can even cause the physical characteristics of the toy we are working with. For example, I tell my sub that she can feel a flogger/whip/cat o' nine tails etc and that every time I touch her on her body she'll feel the sting of said device. I then awaken her and start to touch her and if the suggestion takes, she'll feel the sting, even if I just lightly brush against her body.


As for orgasms, well that's another story all together. Again, with the right people of strong imagination and willingness, I can cause a powerful orgasm, either by touch, word or subtle gesture. Just imagine being brought to orgasm, just because your Dom adjusted his glasses or any other little gesture. I also have other 'tricks' to have the orgasms stretch forever, or even put the person 'on hold' while building the orgasms to an explosive end.


I guess my question is what is it about this particular fetish that seems to frighten people so? I see a lot of people here on CollarMe have hypnosis listed under their Curious About items, but anytime I tell them that I can help with that, and even reassure them that nothing will happen until we get to know each other over a period of time, they seem to fall all over themselves to get away as fast as possible? Any ideas?

Because the myth persists that you can put someone under and make them do things against their values without their consent.

A lot of people don't like knock-out play for the same reasons.

Status: offline 		hi i took my trainng in c falss ohio ,i an traied in both basic and advanced hypnosis,i have also been as by one of the local bdsm groups in ohio to presnt on hupnosis and bdsm lifestyle.my thought is that post hypnitic suggestion works with a sub as so long as the master knows what he or she is doing and i s willing to work with the sub,above all the sub must have trust for this to work

I took my training from The Hypnosis Motivation Institute it was done as a distance course and took 3 months to finish, but prior to that I've had 15 years of real time experience.

You are so right MasterSohun, without trust there is no hypnosis or for that matter no anything. It has to be trust above all

Word doesn't always assist if a persons first language isn't english nor if one is dyslexic.
 
Why not just past their post by instead of knocking someone for spelling?  This is post is about hypnosis and it's part in D/s, not tearing someone down because of their wrting abilities.  Can one show respect to the OP, even if they cannot show respect to a new poster?
I guess free speach is all about ridiculing people publicly too.

Welcome to the forums also Hypnotic Phantom - I apologise for digressing.  I think there is still alot of misunderstanding about hypnosis in general and that just rubs off within BDSM - because we are just people after all.  Personally, it isn't my 'kink' and I do not see a place for it in our/my relationship.  But I have heard only positive reports from those that have participated with it and experimented.

Status: offline 		It can kind of be an odd thing: people who want to give control over to another...but not to the point of being hypnotised.  I don't know what the fear is;  I like it. 

I'm easily dropped into the zone and enjoy having an orgasm with just a word.  It's like a freebie!  One minute you're sitting there and then next you're in the best place ever.  It's a blast.  Show me the downside to that?

Sometimes it's akin to TiVo....you can skip through all the commercials, build-up, prep and the like and go straight to the fun with no marks.

One word of advice for those who want to try:  make sure the person you're working with knows how to bring you back up.  It's pretty easy to learn and I think people get so excited to play with their new toy that they forget the second half, and it's a drag to try to climb back to the present without any help.  I've lost hours on that one, and it's not fun.

If the Dom doesnt work diligently and thoroughly, it can have some interesting consequences, some not so good. I too have lost hours trying to pull myself from a trance (felt so good that I didnt want to come back out) but also once, "good girl" was supposed to be used as a deepener, and instead it became a trigger, and EVERY time i heard it, I would drop like a sack of bricks, no matter WHO said it, or when. Someone would be praising their dog at the park, and I'd go under. It wasnt the intention, but my mind took it and ran with it.

Those whom play with me (Jinx, HypnoticPhantom, and a friend of all of ours, dave) know now that they have to be VERY careful about wording during hypnoplay as my mind loves to find loopholes that let me go under deeper, harder, and more often.

Status: offline 		The television program, "Myth Busters" had a great show on the subject and they judged it worked very well. The interesting thing is that professional pyschologists who claimed to use hypnotism said two of the subjects couldn't be hypnotized, yet the show brought in a professional hypnotist who hypnotized all of them in about 2 seconds. Amazing, as were the results after they were induced.

Status: offline 		Master once threatened to plant the suggestion that i would cum on hearing the word "Master" ... but abandoned that idea when i pointed out i use a Mastercard LOL! Could be a tad embarrassing!
I would only let myself be hypnotised by one I trusted. Apparently I'm a good subject, I did allow a trusted friend to hypnotise me at a conference dinner and enjoyed the trance state. He brought me back very successfully too and I just felt relaxed and good. I wouldn't run a mile from such a Dom but I guess I can also understand why it wouldn't be for everyone.
