This google video is a blast from the past, 1987 Bill Moyers documentary that discusses the shadow government, the CIA, and our history of fomenting problems all over the world... very interesting considering these are still issues 20 years later.

Only 20 minutes long

I remember some of the "60 Minutes" reports from the 1970's.
Same problems then as now.

If theres a secret governement and its so subtle and powerful that no one has ever conclusivly proved its existance, they control all media, all industry, virtually every aspect of life... why do you care? If its that powerful no one will ever make a difference, and you'll never prove it exists, so quit fretting and get on with life.

RealOne, a bit harsh that considering more people in this country can see through government propaganda than in the US - if you take Iraq as an example.

It has already been exposed over and over but it doesnt matter when people cant bring themselves to the reality of it, but when things get bad enough they will.

Wow, what a blast from the past.

I used to think Bill Moyers was a god for doing stories like that.

Personally, i don't think the mark of the beast will be either a card or tattoo.  I'm definitely not a bible scholar, but if my memory serves me right it says the mark of the beast will be in the head and in the hand.  Now, from what i understand the government is trying to impliment...possibly as soon as starting in 2008...a program wherin all US cituzens will be implanted with a microchip similar to what they are using on pets and lifestock now, which will have all the personal, financial, and medical infromation about the person contained in it. And guess where the prefered locations for insertion are.....in the head and in the hand.  Money transactions at stores will be made simply by reading the persons chip, and without it you won't be able to even shop, and you won't be able to get medical attention without the information held in the chip.  Of course this is being pushed as being important to "national security".  I don't know....maybe this is just an urban myth, but is certainly something to look into.

The bloke missed out Venezuala, Brazil and Nicaragua - the US government installed despots that killed thousands of their own people.

In the middle of a thread, I posted something similar to your clip and it was ignored, it seems not many of the supporters or excusers of Iraq are taking you up on this one. Based on the pattern of subverting sovereign nations for economic gain, a person would have to be programmed to see Iraq, and potentially Iran, as anything different.

The core issue for me is this: everything that is thrown at the communists for being tyrants and oppressors applies to the US government and their supporters - they're also willing to murder people in exchange for US economic interests and values being satisfied - the only difference is their eyes are wide open to the USSR because the establishment tells them the USSR was "evil", where as they're blind to their own government because the establishment tells them they're "good".

This fits quite nicely with the anarchy thread in that the OP is a very good example of large numbers of people being slaves to the system.

I have this annoying new past time for when I am bored of writing, I watch google videos (much to the chagrin of my Daddy who encourages me not to waste vast amounts of time in this way), but there are all sorts of gems about mind control via the theories of Freud when it comes to PR, another one about cointelpro they used against the Black Panthers. I have a foundation of knowing about these things from reading and research I have done, but it never fails to spark my ire that so many of us do not know the real history of our own country. It is a history that is not talked about in the media for the most part, so in my opinion each one must teach one in order that this real history not be forgotten.

Fair enough Real0ne, just keeping things on an even keel. Nationality isn't really an issue for me - you have some people over there who are blind, same here.

The English way is actually to fight back. We were questioning our monarchy and fighting for representation well before the rest of Europe - in the 1200s the English were questioning the power of monarchy and overthrowing the king in the 1600s. Problem is, this has led to the British government being masters of attitude adjustment - they realised they couldn't really use force to control us as we had a certain amount of freedom and political consciousness that was lacking in other countries, so instead they developed more subtle methods to control our behaviour - namely attitude adjustment, which means our government is more adept than most in this regard - the Nazis learned the value of propaganda from the English WW1 equivalent.

Sounds right to me. Many people are reasonable and when faced with strong evidence, they'll take it on board.

I read a very interesting book recently written by the woman who managed the installation of the Russian stock exchange in 1991. She was a high-flying business woman who had her eyes opened in Russia as to what the US government was all about. She started to do some research into both Britain and the US and her book is around the practices of both governments - particularly over the last 30 years. She is an ardent proponent of capitalism (providing it is regulated), but puts a good case forward to suggest that corporations have taken over the West (particularly Britain and the US) at the expense of democracy.

Bingo!

That is how it is done now days is threw misdirection and propaganda.  The hegelian dialectic and the pressure models.  that is pressure from the bottom and pressure from the op at the same time.   It is how we wind up funding wars from both sides at the same time etc. and having gov in our faces constantly.   It is a struggle because they know the rules better than we do, after all they have got nothing but time to educate themselves throughout history and pass it down generation after generation through exposure and we on the other hand spend all our time working our asses off just to stay above water with no mind to those who would arrange our lives for us.

WHat i meant by that is we actually broke away from the monarchy and many of its philosophies where as those in the uk have not.

So from where i stand the line of oppression is in different places such that your country has th eauthority to oppress its people more than ours, however noting that in practice it may us that is more more oppressed even with our rights and declarations.
