ORIGINAL: NorthernGent RealOne, a bit harsh that considering more people in this country can see through government propaganda than in the US - if you take Iraq as an example. NG that wasnt a dig at all, its just the way it was so perfectly phrased it perfectly fit lol Fair enough Real0ne, just keeping things on an even keel. Nationality isn't really an issue for me - you have some people over there who are blind, same here. The English way is actually to fight back. We were questioning our monarchy and fighting for representation well before the rest of Europe - in the 1200s the English were questioning the power of monarchy and overthrowing the king in the 1600s. Problem is, this has led to the British government being masters of attitude adjustment - they realised they couldn't really use force to control us as we had a certain amount of freedom and political consciousness that was lacking in other countries, so instead they developed more subtle methods to control our behaviour - namely attitude adjustment, which means our government is more adept than most in this regard - the Nazis learned the value of propaganda from the English WW1 equivalent. Bingo! That is how it is done now days is threw misdirection and propaganda. The hegelian dialectic and the pressure models. that is pressure from the bottom and pressure from the op at the same time. It is how we wind up funding wars from both sides at the same time etc. and having gov in our faces constantly. It is a struggle because they know the rules better than we do, after all they have got nothing but time to educate themselves throughout history and pass it down generation after generation through exposure and we on the other hand spend all our time working our asses off just to stay above water with no mind to those who would arrange our lives for us. WHat i meant by that is we actually broke away from the monarchy and many of its philosophies where as those in the uk have not. So from where i stand the line of oppression is in different places such that your country has th eauthority to oppress its people more than ours, however noting that in practice it may us that is more more oppressed even with our rights and declarations.
