I personally do not consider this a lifestyle... it is my life. To me and mine this isnt simply roleplay, it is who we are.  My alpha and I live this life 24/7/365.    It works quite well for us, but it is not for everyone.

Unlike some who live this life full time I dont look down on those who just dabble from time to time. How does someone who is simply curious know whether this is something they truly wish to do until they try it?

In all honesty.. I don't know!

The Mister have all the time in the world to find out, however. ;)

I agree with you there, I mean how serious do you need to be before your serious?
If you are serious once a month, 10 minutes a day, 2 days a week or 24/7 you are still devoting that time to what you want and the very fact that you like it means your serious surely?

When I was a professional horse trainer I put a lot of time and effort into my life around horses. Just because I did not sleep in the stable with them did not make me less serious than the next person.

Greetings Dnomyar,
Greetings all,

This  "lifestyle" is the foundation of my relationship with my Master/husband.  It  is inherent in everything we do, how we interact, ect.  BDSM is our "play" and fun.

I consider the lifestyle as a form of roleplaying. Some consider it as serious as vanilla lifestyle. How do you view it?

I think of the lifestyle as just that; another way of living your life, in a lot of ways seperate to vanilla. Most people live somewhere in between I think, but the lifestyle is as valid and rael a way of living as is vanilla.

I do not consider life serious, much less any style associated with it

Oh Hell, I wish this lifestyle was as simple as role playing.  It's something that is simply part of me and who I am.   If anything I'm doing a lot of role playing at appearing to be more vanilla.

I think vanilla lifestylers and BDSM lifestylers take themselves too seriously with a fair degree of frequencey. Don't know who is worse though.

Aquatic, I quite agree. Expanding on your comment, I don't think the gap between the two is all that wide. Anyone paying attention can tell pretty quickly who is the "Dom" and who is the "sub" in a vanilla relationship. They just don't use those terms, and the lines between the two are more ephermal.

I live a vanilla lifestyle with my wife that has its kinky elements, and I live a BDSM lifestyle with my slave that has elements of vanilla. Both are very real.

Namaste, Sir Dominic

Vanilla is roleplay for me. Regardless of wether I am in a relationship or not, this is what I am.

You do what you do.

Puffing up over it is when it becomes ridiculous-just be real.
