I just want to point out that there was no internet or special olympics when Confusius was around; and many special olympians are not "retarded". I know you put that up as a joke but i think it might offend some special olympians.[:o]

And  Confucius and the Internet existed in the same era?  Please enlighten me as I think the Internet only came into the public domain in 1983 or close to this year (give or take 1), and Confucius dates back how many years?

I can understand what you're trying to convey, and even agree to the concept. 
But thats a pretty tactless analogy.  You've obviously never been around or close to anyone who is physically or mentally  disabled.   Just look at their shining eyes as they cross the finish line.  Have you ever known such joy in the midst of challenge and hardship ?
