patina -> LOVED ONES SENT TO WAR (4/19/2007 7:35:58 PM)

I have seen at times mentions of my Master was sent or He won't be home for another6 months.  I thought i would make a post about the loss of a loved ones even if that person was not a Dom or your Master.  The loss and worry hurts all the same.

My son was sent for the second time to Afghanastian.  He is 23 yrs old an MP in the Army he will be doing a dangerous job this time and i fear greatly for him.  He will be searching building and homes for insurgents.

Is there any one else beside me who has a loved one that our Great Leader Bush [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m18.gif[/image] has sent over there.

My best friend, a guy named Sean.  He has two years on me, so 22 (Iraq).

I have a roommate that's recently back from Iraq.. I think he's 22 or 23.  You should see how many videos they took while they were over there.. he has a laptop full of them, plus some DVD's.  Says it's rather boring, and they do some weird stuff to keep entertained.  Unlike most soldiers, he's (honestly) able to say he's been in live fire- they even taped it.

He posted a lot of videos on YouTube.com.  I imagine you can find a lot of such things there.

Edit:
Actually, Sean's a little over two years older, and I'm close to 21, so I think he's 23.

And, I wanted to note, about this roommate, the videos, and the general disposition.. those guys get pretty damn sadstic when they're bored.  One of them is about them mutilating a goat.  I can definately see where that "Guantonimo Bay" (sp?) thingie with prisoner abuse came from.

my Lord hasn't gone yet, but He has started the training exercises that are preparation for deployment, and He has a deployment date in September, a week before His birthday (26th...i forget the deployment date, that's His birthday).

They originally told Him 13 months, and now they are telling him 15 months :(

O/our housemate is a marine and he just got back from Iraq in Feb.  W/we were so happy and relieved when he came home in one piece.  His estimated DOS is in December, but if he stays in they will be sending him back to bust down doors and capture insurgents.

Cordially,

I want to rant, but I won't. These brave men and women aren't firemen, or policemen, they are soldiers, signed up and sent to do a job. Stop blaming our “Great Leader” and start blaming the real evil in the world. I know… guns kill people, just as pencils make spelling errors.
Soldiers aren’t there to get scholarships, they are there to stomp out those that would do us harm every second of the day if they could.
Some think that we are not at war. Well, maybe we should all lay down and hope for the best and see what happens.
Okay… like I said, I won’t rant.
Those that join, join because they believe in something. We shouldn’t take it away from them just because “we” are too soft. Let them do what they do and we can sleep, knowing that we are safe.

Shame on all you bastards. You stole this wonderfully comfortable, soft, luxurious bed, no one deserves to sleep in such exquisite comfort. Goodnight.

I will only make one reply back back to these guys joined up and this war is needed.

I am a mother That is MY SON i don't give a DAMM about job or dutey or who did what to who he is MY SON. I am very proud of him yes he chose this and he is proud to go.  But i am still scared shitless for him.  I will fight tooth and nail be he 2 days old, 2 yrs old, 15 yrs old, or 40 yrs old.   That is just the way i am, he is mine to me.

All i care about is he comes home safe and all in one piece.

I just wish anti-war protesters knew what most troops thought of them.

santalia -> RE: LOVED ONES SENT TO WAR (4/19/2007 11:17:42 PM)

Greetings

my (biological) sister's bf was sent to Iraq and then he requested to go back...twice.

He's proud to serve his country and to help those people in Iraq who are in need of our help to get them to a better situation. He and almost every one in his unit requested to go back, many of them requested to be sent back more than one time, and often as soon as they got back here, they were requesting another deployment.

He told me they loved how grateful the people were that somebody, anybody was helping them gain liberty from the oppression they knew under Insane Hussein. And he told me they are frustrated over the misinformation being plastered over the tv screens.

They hate that they are being cast as being upset that they are there. They hate that the media is spreading hate for the job they're doing. The media's cast on what our men and women are doing downplays the good they've done for the people of Iraq. It makes it look like nothing has been done for Iraq and that's a complete and total falsehood.

Our men and women in the armed forces know what they've done for the people of Iraq and they are proud of it, as they should be...and i'm proud of them for doing it.

Thank you to all of you who are willing to put your lives on the line for not only this country, but also for our world, something the US doesn't have to ask you to do but it has on many occassions (WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Bosnia, Somalia...and the list goes on) and you are always proud to be of service, even when there are those who try to bring you down for it. Thank you!

Thorns is deployed over in Afghanistan now.  I look forward to His two week break in August.

He loves what He does, you certainly can't fault a Man for that.   How many people can say they love what they do for a living?

Yes! it is hard being away from home.  Yes! it's hard having Him away from home.
I look forward to seeing that smile again....

I don't know anyone who has been sent to the war but i just wanted to say I think being in the military is a very honorable job and I wish your son a safe return.

Devilslilsister -> RE: LOVED ONES SENT TO WAR (4/20/2007 6:12:57 AM)

they're going to send my brother back over and i was at first really upset.  He was kind enough to explain to me that the odds of him dying are slim to none.  Its more likely that he'd be wounded or something.  So well, i can deal with him wounded, but not dead.  He sort of has issues with the loss of his legs, but i told him that body parts can be replaced - a life cant.

i've also got various life long friends over there.  So far they are living too.......
