These ARE some examples of "how it was"...decades ago and mostly in the gay community. Cars used to be cranked and we used to write with fountain pens, too. These aren't negative things...in fact, they can be beautiful. What I oppose most is the notion that "the past did it better". No, the past did it different. Following the protocols of days gone by is cool...condemning those that don't isn't. I'm regularly in company where slaves sit on the floor, are naked and don't speak unless spoken to. I've also seen when Masters have received their caps. I've seen and given gifts of leather. These things, to me, are beautifully traditional, just like a classic wedding ceremony or a kid getting their first car. Master Fire
