Did the moonbats want you there in the first place, Popeye? if they did make the decision on everyone else's behalf, then why did the democracy-spreading, empathetic, chosen people and purveyors of freedom/liberty listen to the moonbats in the first place? if the moonbats didn't make the decision, then history suggest the moonbats said no, and the purveyors of freedom and liberty said yes - now that it's all gone arse over tit, are you suggesting the moonbats are more likely to say go to Iraq than the people who did actually say go to Iraq?

I'm confused, who directs US policy - the current conservative government and their supporters or the moonbats?

caitlyn -> RE: Iraq insurgents used children in car bombing (3/21/2007 2:52:44 PM)

One thing you can always count on ... the masters of the obvious will chime in. [;)]

Should we just leave, because it was a mistake going in the first place?

The current government is NOT CONSERVATIVE.

CONSERVATIVES believe in SMALL GOVERNMENT.

BUSH has created the largest government ever.

CONSERVATIVES believe in FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.

BUSH has created the largest national debt ever.

CONSERVATIVES believe in LOCAL CONTROL.

BUSH has extended the Federal Government into Local Schools with his No Child Left Behind Act.

CONSERVATIVES believe....

Well, you get the point.

What you LIKELY meant was "NEOCON PARTY WHORE", not CONSERVATIVE, and if you don't know that, WTF are you using terms like "Moonbat" for?

Fuck knows, but what I can tell you is CONSERVATIVES believe in capital letters.

Out of interest, was reagan a neo-con party whore or one of the proper, stone-wall conservatives?

farglebargle -> RE: Iraq insurgents used children in car bombing (3/21/2007 3:10:44 PM)

Reagan the UNION PRESIDENT, who in his autobiography wrote:

"I didn't leave the Democratic Party", he claimed. "The party left me."

You tell me.

Being on the Goldwater team did redeem him somewhat. Trading Drugs for Weapons, then giving THEM to terrorists via A'li North?

Not MY KIND of Conservative.

What is happening in Iraq is a prime example of the politial cycle that runs -
chaos and civil war followed by totalitarian dictatorship followed
by chaos and civil war followed by another dictator...

We could really use a ruthless dictator to get things under control in Iraq.

Any ideas on where we could find one?

How about Rummy, with a coffee grounds tan?

What I find particularly entertaining is how the Left weeps and cries over terrorists who they claim are being treated badly, and then with their next breath tell us that "Saddam knew how to keep those animals under control".

That makes about as much sense as the Left trying to claim that when terrorists blow up children, it's George Bush's fault - and why? Because he dares to fight them. Hell, Middle East terrorists have been doing this kind of thing forever!!!

Leftisms, they're much funnier than any Bushism could ever hope to be...

Fair enough. In truth, I can't find fault with anyone who just wants to get their heads down and do the right thing by all - regardless of political allegiance.

It's these brainwashed-types backing the establishment and their games, or making excuses for them, that boil my piss. It just happens to be that, in this country, the vast majority of them (quite possibly all) are conservatives (British replica).

Vendaval -> RE: Iraq insurgents used children in car bombing (3/21/2007 3:38:05 PM)

Being a humanitarian and not wanting to watch children die in war
or prisioners of war being tortured is not specific to the Left or to
the Right.  It is a matter of ethics.

Sanity -> RE: Iraq insurgents used children in car bombing (3/21/2007 3:48:02 PM)

Butt pyramids and murdering children are both bad but what I was referring to was a hypocritical argument that you so often hear from Bush-bashers, namely they weep and moan about butt pyramids one minute, then the next they're telling us that "Saddam Hussein knew how to keep those (add derisive term here) in check".

Ethics are fluid to so many of them - they're convenient for some arguments, but not necessary all of the time by any means.

What I find considerably less entertaining is that you seem incapable of posting here without endlessly bashing the people who you disagree with.  Please give it a rest.

I wouldn't compare Butt Pyramids to "murdering people."
Butt Pyramids are funny!
"Hey Duuuude, yer gettin a Butt Pyramid!"

For God's sake......and ethics AREN'T fluid to so many of YOU (if it's going to be an "us" and "them" distinction).  For instance, the president can crow about what a devoted Christian he is but systematically violate every principle Christ taught.  How's THAT for fluid ethics?  Supposedly being a "devout" Christian and referring to Scripture when it fits his views on issues such as abortion, gay marriage and stem cell research but then having no qualms about lying, greed, lack of compassion, warmongering, and so on.  i don't think there's any shortage of folks on all sides whose ethics are fluid.  It's politics for God's sake.  Singling out the "them" you don't like as being the guilty party just doesn't fit here.......slave luci

The mentality of these people are such that they would do this irregardless. Us being there isn't going to change a thing.  IMHO

[sarchasim edited], do you really think that they would be using suicide bombers like this if the US hadn't invaded Iraq?

Oh and if you (the USA) being there isn't going to change a thing why be there in the first place?

That's what we Americans keep asking ourselves.  I take no responsibility for having Bush in office as I did not vote for him.  Considering the unrest of the American people with our government since his FIRST election, it's amazing we haven't impeached him-  Lord knows we try.  He thumbs his nose at subpoenas and denies everything when he just doesn't want to admit his errors.  For example, he was requested to testify in a situation as to why 8 judges were fired.  He agreed if he did not have to testify under oath and it had to be off the record.

We should have insisted on a pullout with the discovery of his first lie - WMD.

As soon as it turned into a civil war.. we should have left.. Actually, we should have never involved ourselves.

The key question, to which I honestly don't have an answer, is whether we're doing any good -- to the Iraqis, to ourselves -- by remaining there.

Maybe Liberals are right. Maybe we shouldn't be fighting these people - maybe we should just let them have whatever it is that they want. Maybe it really IS the USA that is evil... and maybe monkeys really do fly out of Liberals' butts.

Love the circumlocutions required to blame the Iraqi insurgency on liberals.

Here ya go, Sanity
