If you actually experienced the pain and suffering you described, I would go find a new dentist. I had all 4 molars pulled many years ago and felt little if any pain, just as my dentist said. To this day needles are no problem because a good dentist uses extremely fine gauge needles, he taps my cheek while jabbing it in and I never actually feel the needle going in!!!!! I just had a dead molar extracted. They tried to save it with a root canal. The needles they had to use and where they put them in at hurts as much as the extraction site. I have a high tolerance to novocain. They had to inject deeply into my nerve system. This happened three times over the last week. The extraction itself was not very hard because the tooth was dead... and I needed less novocain to extract the tooth because the tooth was dead.
Because I have had major reconstructive jaw surgery in the past the oral surgeon insists I need an oral implant for several reasons... especially to save the rest of my teeth. We are talking almost 4k. That hurts far worse than having this tooth pulled[:(]. I do not know where I am going to get that kind of money. I will probably end up either taking a loan out on my car (I own it) or having a co-signer. This news came at me yesterday when I had this tooth pulled. So basically, does anyone think if I put my dead old crumbling tooth that is in several pieces under my pillow a tooth fairy will leave me 4k?
Edited to add, I left my son whatever cash was in my purse. Once I left him 10 bucks because I did not feel like going to the store to break the 10 spot and it was all I had, but he is my only UM and I spoiled him.
