Piercing with cocktail sticks - 3/19/2007 3:13:00 PM

I'm meeting with someone in a few days time who, among other things, wants to pierce my pussy lips with cocktail sticks as opposed to needles. My question is how safe is it and can it be made safe using sterets or something similar.
If it can be done safely, I will agree otherwise he will use needles.

Advice please,

I'm not clear on how the cocktail sticks would be sharp enough to pierce the pussy lips.  Maybe you could pierce your lips and then run the cocktail sticks through?  What are the cocktail sticks made out of (plastic?)?

I'm thinking that this would be an activity that would be better explored with someone you have some history with rather than a first meeting... but thats just me.

Maybe you should consult a local person who does piercing & let him discuss with you the pros & cons of piercing that area.

I know that is one vital area where if things go wrong it can go really wrong.

is he a qualified piercer, to begin with? if he is a well-recognized, qualified piercer, my guess is he could answer your questions a hell of a lot better than we can. if not, i wouldn't let him near my pussy lips with sharp ANYTHING, cocktail sticks, needles, or not.

my biggest fear with cocktail sticks (other than the fact that i don't even know if they're sharp enough to pierce someone with) would be sterilization. piercing should be done with sterilized needles - so unless he has a safe way to sterilize the cocktail sticks, again, i personally wouldn't go near them with a ten foot pole.

piercing the outer labia (and even the inner labia, i think) is usually a pretty safe and quickly healing process, if it's done properly, from what i have heard (in talking to piercers and health professionals about piercing). i would just worry about vaginal infections, scarring, and other kinds of damage if it's not done properly. but if we were talking hood or triangle piercings or something, i personally would be a lot more worried than labial piercings.

You know I didn't catch that this was supposed to happen in a first meet.  I don't think its a good idea to be planning piercings on a first date.

C~

Edited to add: I believe she is talking about temporary piercings, not permenant ones.  But some clarification from the OP would be nice.

yeah, but still - any type of piercing, temporary or permanent, should be done, imho, with someone you know is either a qualified, well-recognized piercer or at least well-trained at needle play. the mechanics of temporary piercing - the necessity of sterile equipment, training in piercing properly, etc. - are basically the same as permanent piercing. if the person she's being pierced by knows what they're doing, i would guess they could probably answer her questions a lot better. the fact that she is asking here throws up red flags for me, because it indicates to me that the person who's going to be poking holes in her doesn't know what he's doing. i might be wrong, but this really bugs me, especially because it's happening on a first meet.

I have to say my first meeting with Master involved needle play. It was something that was arranged beforehand so I also knew what was going to happen. It must have worked ok as we have been together for 3 years and have bought a house together and run a business together.

Anyway as to the question of cocktail sticks, if they are wood stay clear. Apart from the issue of sterilisation is the problem with splinters. A small splinter can cause quite an infection. Sticking to needles is far better.

Oh, Jesus.   Cocktail sticks?  either plastic (the little spears that hold the olive in your martini)?  Or wood (like you might use to grill appetizers over a hibachi)?

I am seriously hoping this is a troll, and that you are not foolish enough to believe that (1) either of these items are sharp enough to do ANY piercing of human skin/flesh and (2) that they can be made sterile.   You can't autoclave them.  Indeed, you can't even soak either substance in 91% methyl alcohol, which wouldn't even get them sterile in my book.

You can however reduce someone's private parts to a bloody painful mess with a high probability of infection.  If that's what you want, "slavebitch" God speed.

BTW, piercing needles are hollow, so they remove a "core" of tissue and leave a hole for the insertion of studs/rings etc.  Even a "play piercing" needle should be made of something that can be sterilized (we call it surgical or stainless steel) and is very, very sharp in order to enter the layers of the skin and "push aside" tissue fibers.  The thought of what a plastic cocktail spear would do to labia...or whatever tissue they used to form your labia, is actually a bit sickening.

And BTW, number two -- YOU HAD THOSE SKIN FLAPS SURGICALLY CREATED.  What sort of madness has you now wanting to ruin them?  It occurs to me that an MTF post-op trans might be the least appropriate person (medically speaking) to mess around with this, let alone using tinker toys.

AND BTW number three -- has this oh so Domly, vaunted person ever DONE this, or is this a wank fantasy he hopes comes true on your bottom?

Oh, please be sure to let us all know how it turns out?

E.

you got to be kidding right?

if he has no experience and/or consulted someone who is about this, then i would say hold off on the piercings. imo, it sounds unsafe and could damage your vagina leaving the wounds open for any infections or potential diseases.

however if this floats your boat, all i can say is be safe and i hope he knows what he's doing.

I'd definitely suggest the person know what they do, but I don't think you need the skills set required to do a permenant piercing to do a temporary piercing.  They are in many cases different animals, though they certainly have the commonality of putting a hole here there wasn't one.

I'm not clear that the person that she's meeting with does or does not know how to do temp piercings so I'm reserving judgement (I'm not using the word judgement to suggest its a bad thing, simply that I'm just making that particular judgement call yet) on that.  I wouldn't do piercing on a first meet, but thats me.

C~

P.S. - Cocktail sticks can be made out of a variety of materials, including metal.

I honestly don't know how this could be done safely. I would stick with sterile needles if I were you.

Sign me up with the "Oh, sweet Jesus" crew.

Has he done this before?  Has/have his victims survived?  Are they willing or able to talk with you?

More to the point: if it can't be sterilized, fuggedaboudit.

(Yes, I have ten permanent piercings, yes I've had literally dozens of needles in my body on any number of occasions.  No infections, no bad outcomes, but that was because I knew who I was playing with, knew the needles were sterile and I trusted him.  'Nuff said?)

Maybe if the cocktail sticks weren't wooden?  I have pierced someone's ear with a very very very dull needle and it took a good two minutes to work the needle all the way through their ear.  It didn't get infected though. It's not like it takes a genius to stick a hole in another persons body.  It might take some skills to situate a piercing so that it heals correctly and doesn't migrate or reject. I would guess what would be most important was making sure all instruments were sterile (which I would think near impossible with a wooden cocktail stick) and that you cleaned the wound correctly.

Many thanks for all your input and advice. It serves to confirm my own reservations. I asked because I'd never heard of this being done before and because the Dom who booked me (yes, I'm a pro sub) asked me. I told him I wanted to ask advice in the Forums first which I have done before making my mind up. I'll stick with needles (excuse the pun)....I know what they feel like and they are safer.

Thanks again

Ok, I'm just gonna say this flat out.

If I was a Dom looking to hire a pro-sub (got nothing against them, btw), and they told me they had to ask advice in the forums, I'd be out of there.  Now, if I heard, "I'd have to consult a piercing professional.  I'll let you know what I find out.", then I might not dive for the door.

Valeca, with all due respect, I wanted to speak to people at grass roots level, people who might be able to give advice and opinions from personal experience. The very fact that I wrote the post in the first place is a testament to the fact that I had reservations about it.
