Scammers abound...

I have to laugh at this jerk as all the ads appear the same.  In this ad this is part of what is said:

Am not disable but looking for the man of my life to settle down with and have a very happy family.I am a Civil model, , and Licensed Contractor. I grew up in Texas, but have called to west africa to see my sick mum.

What the heck is a civil model?  And please, kind sirs, please just give me a few hundred to send to my dying mom?  Beware... never send money to anyone.  Never send a one-way plane ticket, unless you are SURE it cannot be sold or exchanged, even then say bye, bye money.  Never send anything Western Union, the payments are untraceable and a sure sign of a scam.  If you really think the person is real and special, hop on a plane and go visit.

Common identifiers:

Illiterate (things are spelled properly but misused such as "civil model."  Misplaced verbs.  "American Indian, weight = 45lbs, this person runs about 4 new ads a week here.  All the photos are of very young caucasian women, all are blurry, and they don't fit in with race and weight.

If anyone refutes and proves that the writing from above is real and not a scam I will apologize publicly

Beware:  The hundred dollars you send is a year's salary in Angola, or other parts of Africa.

I fail to see the purpose of this post.

You know, you don't have to be obligated to save the stupid people.

avessalom -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 5:07:03 PM)

You are absolutely right, pal. I've written here a long time ago that this great site was being taken over by scammers from the Third World. They clain to be natives of North America but just temporarily reside in Africa to "collect antiques" or "conduct research". They are all too eager to start communication over yahoo messenger. And judging by their postings, they have no clue of what D/s and BDSM are about.

popeye1250 -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 5:31:25 PM)

Yeah, but it's fun to play with them!
"Go down to the Western Union, I just sent you $2,500." "God Bless your mother!"

Later...
"What? No money?" WHICH Western Union did you go to?"
"No, No, NO, in the Capital City, the one that's about 100 miles away from you! I just called them on the phone, they're waiting for you to come in to get your money!"
The ladys name is Helen!!!"
"She says she has your $2,500!!!!!"

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 6:07:02 PM)

it's not just here but in any instant messenger (mostly Yahoo).  last night be leaving for work i had an IM from a farmer in FL who asked "can will chat now" and replied "okay" so i told him if he couldn't speak English i was blocking him. he replied "wat english" (actual reply) - blocked him immediately.

most Nigerians scammers these days are using American names, cities and jobs now in their profiles. a couple i've noticed listed their occupation as international business - what the heck is that?

juliaoceania -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 6:10:33 PM)

I had someone email me that they were looking for "beautiful submissives" to be in their fetish movies, and encouraged me to go to their website and see if I would be interested. I was thinking to myself, "hmmmm, I bet every submissive on the west coast was sent one of those emails.. I was not flattered.

FukinTroll -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 6:12:43 PM)

But I meant it Julia. All those other subs didn't mean anything to me.

You say that now! I wonder how much you offered them to perform that throwing a lemon meringue pie fetish? Do you know how hard it is to get pie out of long hair?

ferryman777 -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 6:26:07 PM)

Not only new members, I recently had a answer which read  " Send me a tribute." that was it; her photo profile shows a slave cuffed.  I do like Popeye1250's suggestion. I think I may just try it.
Have you noticed the girls from Nigera, Ghana, et al; are some drop dead beautiful women. Oh, I got a message from this Domme, picture was of the famous, beautiful body builder; Lynn McGrossen, who has been featured in magazines and videos, and surely must have her own website. I replied, and they never answered back......damn I like Ms McGrossen.

Ferryman, yeah, I noticed that too.
What's a beautifull caucaision girl who looks like she comes from the Midwest doing in Ghana? Or in some other hell hole like Nigeria? And usually scantily clad.
And another tip-off is they'll say, "I am ..... by name."
You never hear that kind of phrasing in the U.S.
There must be some way to cut off African countries from the Internet.

Gee, that's a fair and practical solution. Maybe it would be easier to just use your head and avoid being scammed. Do you really need the government to protect you by blocking an entire continent? You must be quite scared! I find the scam profiles amusing. Sure, they take up space that could be put to better use, but they're really pretty funny...especially when they totally mung up the language.

Rat, what does the U.S. govt. have to do with the internet? Do they control it?
I thought that U.S. Taxpayers owned the internet as it was developed using our Taxdollars.
No good e-mails come from Africa, they're all scams, every single one I've gotten anyway.
I'm not one of those people who wants to "buy the world a Coke."
Fuck Africa!

badgirl64 -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 7:52:31 PM)

Popeye,

I hope you don't really believe that ALL e-mails from ALL of Africa are scams.  That is a very broad generalization.

Maybe you keep getting the e-mails is because you are playing with these people so they keep your e-mail on a list of some sort.  I admit, what you said you did was funny and well deserved by these scammers, but maybe it has backfired for you in a way.  (Just a though)

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Scammers abound in new members (3/10/2007 8:35:32 PM)

Like the one guy who contacted me ages ago, telling me he was a doctor, but he couldn't even form coherent sentances, and kept asking me how you sex, I am a doctor so tell me how you sex.

What he ment was he wanted to know how I personally had sex. details and such.

I wish I'd saved some of the hilarious emails I've gotten from Nigeria and Ghana. Some of 'em had me laughing out loud. But then, I've also gotten some real howlers from the good ol' Land Of The 'Free', too. I'll take my entertainment any way I can get it, as long as no one gets hurt.[:D]

I just wish you had read my profile, FukinTroll.  I would love to be in your movie except I am male and Dominant.

Or is that an issue?

The only time it takes me is how long it takes to tell you to go get the goo out of your hair.

I fail to see the problem here.

Badgirl, that's what I mean, >*every * single *one*< I've gotten from Africa is a scam!
I bet I got 7 to 9 today alone! I'll check my mail in a bit.
I mark them as "Spam" on Yahoo so hopefully they don't let them contact anyone else.
There must be a way to cut telecommunications between our two continents or internet service.
When it comes to the U.S. all those people know is gimme, gimme, gimme.
