Just checked my mail and counted 11 of those e-mails and every single one is a scam. "I am........." "Money being held in a trust...."etc, etc.

YES we see them every day and I am surprised there are so many Caucasians in Ghana and the communist block has their fair share as well.ALL tho I had one Russian sub that was a gem...smiles..bounty

There's a huge debate in congress right now over "Net Neutrality". Although it's mostly because some of the bigger companies, i.e., Verizon, Comcast, want to be able to charge more to some people for "allowing" their websites to be on line because of all the "room" they take up on the ISP's site. There are other groups opposed to it, i.e., Google, yahoo, public knowledge, etc., but the whole thing is a mess because no one really knows what the other side is saying..like that's abnormal for congress..lol. The only thing i'm actually in favor of is keeping congressional hands outta here as much as possible, but i'm not sure that's even possible anymore. As for blocking African isp's from the net, i can't even imagine the nightmares that could cause. Many of the more technically savvy know how to bounce their internet from say Ghana to Turkey or New York or England.... Krikket, technically, I don't think it would be a problem at all. I mean you can trace one user never mind one ISP anywhere in the world in a few seconds with some of the new programs they have out these days. And that's just the FBI with their shitty, old software! I believe in net neutrality too and the internet (does) belong to U.S. Taxpayers who paid for it's developement by our Pentagon as a way to keep U.S. Military units in touch with each other. Therefor the internet is OWNED by U.S. Taxpayers. When you PAY for something it's yours! I don't believe in censorship either but we really do need to cut out countries who use the internet to scam old ladies in the U.S. out of their life savings etc. I don't see any need for those countries and their citizens to have continued access to our internet.

Just thought I would throw in on this one. Technically, if an African user knows how to do it, and they bounce through a couple of ISPs, it is almost impossible to trace them back without the cooperation of the ISP they bounced through. The better hackers will usually use three hops or more. Oh, and the taxpayers really only funded the original research in a joint study with the military and the University of Hawaii. That was called Aloha net, the actual precursor to the internet where most of the protocols were developed. There is still some public funding, but most of it is corporate or private. I kind of like the emails and chat. When they get around to asking for money, I always tell them that I'm not allowed to go to Western Union because then I might miss my meds. They ask what meds, and I tell them that I am taking meds to prevent the Alien invasion force from reading my thoughts and having an advantage when they try to subjugate Earth. If you are creative, you can really have some laughs.

Hey Phoenix, that's sounds good for fun! I think it would be very easy to cut those bastards off, if you isolated a whole geographical area they couldn't even do one "hop." Like the same thing as cutting the phone lines going into and out of a geographical area only do it with codes or protocols or whatever like a bottleneck. I'm sure if Yahoo, AOL and a bunch of others got enough complaints it would be easy for them to individualy isolate Africa from the internet. The whole Continent is nothing but a big scam. People like "BONO" are just enablers.

I only got one scam email from this site, but quite a few at hotmail and yahoo.. But it strikes me. If these assholes spent a lot less money and time on internet, equipment and trying to rip people off and spent a lot more money and time on food and education, they would not have to be harassing everyone with their horseshit. The lady that paged me said 45 pounds and 5 1/2 feet tall. No wonder "she" is so fucking skinny. She is too busy paying for the computer and internet. We should not be sending money over to these damn countries. We should be sending seed, hoes and teachers.
