Luckydog, trust me...regardless of what those studies have said, I know first hand that the nuts come out when the moon is full.....I've been in the law enforcement field for almost 20 years, am now working in the security dept of a hospital that's classified as a level 1 trauma center, and the nights of the full moon suck!  I don't know who those people are doing the studies, but they sure haven't talked to cops, EMT's or nurses!

This is thread for anybody who would like to discuss or debate the existence of anything they might see as specious. =) Alternative medicine, paranormal, religion... you name it. Thoughtful, well-constructed arguments are a big plus, lol.

Here's a topic to consider: Astrology.. bogus or true? And why?

Caveat: All ideas and opinions subject to challenge.

Cheers,
Stella

An all you can flambe buffet of combustables and matches. What a cheery theme for a thread, Stella. I  bet there's a job in the dipolmatic service in your future.

Aw, come on. =) There's nothing wrong with a bit of robust debate, lol. Besides, I only attack ideas, not people. ;P

I read once that the theory behind the Lunar incidents was based on humans being 80% water and since the moon controls the tide, it would have effects on us too. interesting idea but just that.
I got one...... If man has been to the moon, how come no one has been back since? It's starting to make me really believe those conspirasy theory people, that it didn't really happen and was just to help hide money spent on Vietnam.

Hello, Ms. Parados. =)

One thing I learned to do before jumping to any "conspiracy" conclusion is to ask myself some common sense questions. Why would the government stage such an elaborate hoax to hide money? What is the evidence these speculators present for their case?

I suspect that there are two reasons why we haven't gone back. One is money, lol. The other is that maybe there's just no need to go back to the moon. There could be other more promising projects that NASA is brewing up. These alternatives are more likely then a government conspiracy to me.

Cheers,
Stella

Hello. =)

Unfortunately, anecdotes aren't evidence. There's a good reason for that, too.... humans are just really good at self-deception and bias. And there's too many variables. If cops, nurses, etc are expecting more erratic behavior on the full moon, then chances are, they'll remember the hits and forget the misses. Does that make any sense?

Cheers,
Stella
