I disagree with  you that two year gap makes a big difference in the maturitry of the child, if an 18 yr old wants to date a minor then he/she needs to ask why they are not dating someone of their own age. The damage done to a child no matter 5 or 16 cannot be undone both are being controlled by someone older than they are. If you are 18 and are interested in a 16 yr old wait two years.  Give them time to grow up.

as far as prostitution goes the law has always been a double standard harder on the woman than the man.  Sex for sale is not going away I think they should make it legal and tax it like the rest of us pay taxes. just think of the money the govt could make and  states could save.

Actually I can't get a newspaper delivered to me lol. Sooooo would you kindly tell me instead of using sarcasm?
And why when I hit quote for you, does my font turn into your font? Another question since you cook... if I have to halve a recipe calling for 3 eggs can I scramble them then divide them in half?

Wow, some heavy questions ;)

So, it's like Megan's law, in that before the internet, there was never a central information center where you could give the person an address, and receive a list of every child molester, and convicted prositute (or their Johns.)  Many people would live their whole lives next door to convicted felons and never be the wiser.

So, it depends on the recipe.  If you need 'half' an egg, I would just take the one egg, toss it in a bowl, beat it with a fork (don't get too turned in the process mind you) for about twenty seconds, and then pour roughly half of the egg out.  You can use that other half egg with half a bagel and a half slice of cheese for a great snack, btw.

As for my font, it often bleeds into other folks fonts.  You can embed any font not just the ones in the drop down box, using the [ font=Arial ]
ARIAL [ /font] commands (don't use a space in in between the [ and ].  I used to use this black Georgia font for years before I came to Collarme on other message boards, so I'm just used to it.

To get rid of it, just type your message.  Highlight that message, and click the 'B' (removes the bold) and then use the drop down menu to select Times New Roman (the default font.)

Voila!

This happened near where I live.  17 year old boy 17 year old girl.  He is about a month older than her.  He turns 18 and her daddy turns him for statutory rape.  He is convicted and now for the rest of his life he must register as a sex offender.  They had been having sex together since they were sophmores they are both in college now and married to each other.

Yup, half. I'm trying to cut down a recipe for bread pudding and was puzzling over the sauce because even tho it is awesome stuff it just makes too much for one.

I understand the correlation between using the media to alert for criminals. BUT it really has nothing to do with Megans Law....so I was wondering if there was something I had missed.
Child molestation isn't on par with prostitution unless it is child prostitution which is a whole nutta awful mess.

I tend to be very literal when reading. Yes  I'm working on it lol.

Megan's Law represents the first time a central registry was publicly availible that gave information based on location.  Before the sex offender registry, it required a criminal background check on a person, based on their name, SSN, etc in order to determine if they had committed a crime.  Newspapers would regularly publish the names of people, but if you committed a crime in a small town, you could simply move to the next county where that particular paper might not be watched so closely.  In any large community, there would regularly be dozens of names each day of crimes being committed; it would have been very difficult to know who was arrested or convicted of which crimes, ten years ago.

Megan's law changes this, drastically.  That the same concept for a database of other crime will, naturally, be the evolution of the beast.  My guess is that there will soon be commercially availible databases where, for a $9.95 fee, you'll get a chance to do a real time analysis of all criminal offenders in your area, the crimes they committed, their mug shots, etc etc etc.  I wonder how much safer such users will feel......

I understand already what you are saying. My point was that I could not understand the precise wording of the topic heading. It is the wording that I have difficulty with not the actual concept. As I said I tend to read things in a very literal mode.
It's worse in p2p conversation lol.

No, I know you got it.  I just got hung up on another, corollary thought regarding crime databases.

Just saw this on the news. Police have decided to create a public website for convicted prostitutes and their customers. Somehow I knew it wouldn't be limited to rapists and child molesters.

Well it is technically against the law and it is a sexual offense... *helpless shrug* I think it should be legal but what can you do except try to make it legal? It's kinda the risk you take when you decide to break the law.

I saw it on the news........on my TV, not you tube. Nice sarcasm. Sounds like somebody is in need of an attitude adjustment. No need to worry though....transexuals aren't my type.

That was harsh... Are you always this insulting when somebody asks for a link to a credible source? Somebody posting something off YouTube isn't uncommon in today's world you know.

Speaking of crime data bases.. I divorced about 1 1/2 years ago. In order to revert back to my maiden name I have to go to the Michigan State Police & get fingerprinted just incase I am a convicted felon trying to change my name for nefarious reasons.

Since I refuse to hand over my prints I'm stuck with 'his' last name. Ugh.

Now that really stinks. Is there any way you can protest this?

Stephann -> RE: Megan's law now applies to prostitution? (3/3/2007 3:36:51 PM)

Lots of ways.  None effective.

She wasn't forced to change her name in the first place, though.  Such a change is a priviledge, not a right.

Personally, I've been fingerprinted over a dozen times.  Anyone with a passport will know the drill.

FangsNfeet -> RE: Megan's law now applies to prostitution? (3/3/2007 10:24:36 PM)

So what's the deal.

1. Give a chick money for sex. You get in trouble.

or

2. Buy a chick food, booze, tickets to a show, and give a back rub. You expect and get sex after the following actions and yet not get in trouble.

Either way, you're giving a chick money for sex. Does this make us all victims of prostitution?

You are right somebody is in need of an attitude adjustment but I do not think we are thinking of the same person. I found your reply incredibly rude.

I suggest you keep your prejudices to yourself in future.
