Just saw this on the news. Police have decided to create a public website for convicted prostitutes and their customers. Somehow I knew it wouldn't be limited to rapists and child molesters.

I have read of several communities which do this in various ways.  Some have websites, others list names and/or pictures in the newspaper on a weekly basis.  I had not heard that it was tied in with Megans law though, that is interesting.  The places I've heard about do it as a matter of public record from what I understand.

Police have always published the names of criminals in the paper. But pictures and info on the internet? This idea comes from Megan's law

this is completely insane, not to mention morally criminal. but then i've never agreed with the idea of prostitution being a crime in the first place, nor with the idea of people convicted of crimes having their faces and names posted on criminal websites for all to see and stone.

I've just got a commission to paint Roman style wall murals in a brothel. Damn, I guess I could be heading for the list if I was there and not here.

It's so so stupid, it won't belong before sex offender lists are pointless because everyone who has watched a bit of porn on the internet will be on the list.

Adding a genuine source just might help people take you more seriously, spouting off 'things I hear' don't exactly hold water.

Great point. Just log on to the sex offenders register to find your local prostitute. Let's hope they record their specialities.

(lol) Troll your always thinking ahead, like a Pizzahut delivery thing now. Cool!

I was recently told that they were considering putting truckers that stop along side the roqad at night and pee between the wheels on the ped list because a kid might see them....WTF.....doen't that actually start to take away from what the list is supposed to be about? Child safety? I vote for less laws, jsy go back and enfore some of the ones we had...FFS.

I've always been against Megan's law for this very reason......among others. I don't think an 18 year old who screws his 16 year old girlfriend belongs on a pedophile list with some sicko that molests a 5 year old child. I don't think prostitues belong on there. Now truck drivers? Next it will be some poor woman whose hands are full and her skirt blows up in a parking lot. Pretty soon, they will find a reason to put almost everyone on the sex offender list.
