Being in the midst of reading a really good book, talking with my nephews, nieces;  .  Enjoying a few spoonfuls of chocolate peanut butter icecream.

A spoon of chocolate frosting mixed with a spoon of peanut butter.

And hearing Master's voice. ~big stoopid smile~

OK this may sound odd, but I am making a concerted effort to like everything around me. I am trying to find joy in mundane things. I am becoming fairly adept at it. I know there are things that I get more bliss from than others, but I have one life, I want to enjoy as much of it as I can.

I went grocery shopping today.

I bought tulips and Iris and daffodils.  I brought them home, and put them in a vase (arranged) on my kitchen table.  This allows me to enjoy their beauty, and then look at the planter box (and nightmare of flowers planted in it) and the ships sailing into and out of the harbor.

I have a picture of a 3 inch waterfall I took when I was 15.  I get almost weepy when I see it.  The mossy rocks, water, small plants, and I may be the only person to have ever seen it.

It is finding beauty in the small things that I love.

Hmmmmmm.

I notice that nobody has mentioned anything to do with technology.

Think about that for a sec, but I am going to break the ice.

Being here, and having reminded some of what is really important in their life. And then having them share it with others.

That is great.

Also, not that I hope anyone was having a bad day, someone could be out there, just got fired, insuranjce ran out and they smashed their car. After all that ordeal, they can see what is really important. Not that they do not have problems, but a glimpse of why we try, why we care at all.

I didn't hear anyone saying, for example "Dude, I finally got Wooly Bully by the Pharoahs on my MP3 player". Nothing to do with technology, and nothing much to do with the old.

Responses, some of them anyway, have been focused on the young.

I don't think yous people need any work at all, your head is in the right place already. I mean that.

Thank you all for being around. Really.

But honestly, hearing my best friend giggle makes me the happiest person in the world.

When I laugh my best friend looks scared... [:D] And that tickles my pickle.

Other than that... snuggling my itty bitty, spazzy Gizmo, especially when he's feeling talkative, makes me quite content.

* Gizmo is a silly Siamese cat.

I like the freedom of spontaneity  - Being able to do anything you want anytime you want.

i think i'm gonna go join LaTigresse and bring my camera, cause one of my all time
favorite things is saddling up at day break before the rest of the world begins to wake when all i can hear is hoof beats in the dirt.  the sights at that time of morning can be breathtaking.

then again i also like it when a plan (any plan) comes together!

lookit you sleazy, sporting an engagement ring?  congrats!!!!

now there's something that can make a person happy...despite all the crapola in the world, two people can find each other and decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together...

Thanks!

Yep..and that makes me happy [:D]..a diamond will always do that.[;)]

Doesn't sound "odd" at all, it sounds wise.

I like my doggies, Oscar and Rufus. In fact, I love them both so much. They are just so sweet!

I went to the restaurant where I work the other night, not as a chef but as a customer. The people two tables over from me ordered one of my desserts and were absolutely ga-ga over it. You know, passing spoonfulls around "you gotta try this!" sort of thing. It very much made me smile to see people so enjoying something I had created.
