Well, I can't tell you that, exactly, but I can tell you where to find the single women. In the latest issue of National Geographic (Feb '07) they show where the largest concentrations of single women and single men live. Basically if you live west of the Mississippi, you are screwed! The largest plurality is in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut urban area, where there are 185,000 more single women than men. Most major eastern cities are good places. Some cities with 20,000 to 40,000 more single women than men include Boston, Baltimore, Washington DC, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, New Orleans and Miami. There are NO cities west of the Mississippi with this abundance of single women over men. You are especially screwed if you live in Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas, Southern California, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin & Houston; all of which have 20,000 to 40,000 more single men than women. I always thought it was some forbidden fruit thing, or grass is greener. I see so many more interesting submissives on the East Coast than I do in California. I hate the East coast but perhaps I need to get over that.

Based on many of the threads on the matter, being "single" doesn't affect availability or participation within the "lifestyle".

Agreed, Mercnbeth, A great many are looking for a monogamous relationships though, so if you are a single male, it makes sense to move where the single women are in abundance. The number of single women does not automatically equate to the number of women into fetish either, but, again, if you live in a city where males outnumber females by 40,000, finding someone is going to be a lot harder! Before single men stampede to Miami in search of that bonanza of single women, they might want to consider that Florida is the mecca for retirees. And since women statistically outlive men by a number of years, you have to figure there is going to be a higher proportion of blue haired 80 year old widows filling out the ranks of those eager and waiting females. grins
