I don't know where I got that "meaningfull" carb thing... ha ha ha... I mean yes, if I'm going to eat a carb, I try to make sure it has a good nutritional reason... high-fiber or potassium (in potatoes, well, that's what I tell myself anyhow)... and all in moderation... I have white flour/empty carbs now and again, but, I try not to

I don't consider pizza a health food, but I think a slice or two of the thin crust without any meat on it
is okay.  It works for me at least.

Moderation and common sense were around long  before the fad diets, and carb-watch, etc.  If you want pizza, have pizza. No, not the whole pizza!!!  To indulge is healther than to deny. Example: I love Coke, could drink a 2-litre a day...i allow myself two twelve ounce cans a week that i buy from a vending machine when i want one.  Ok, so who mentioned anchovie pizza? YUM!

I agree.  In general, I don't think I've ever resisted a temptation.  But, once I give in, I'm pretty much done with it for a while.

I do pay attention to carbs, not because I care about my weight (I don't...I don't even have a scale) but because the body treats white flour and other heavily processed foods pretty much the same way it treats sugar.  I prefer whole foods and don't like the empty feeling I get after eating heavily processed foods.  So, I'm always, like, is that carb a simple or complex one?  Complex is always better.

Hello A/all,

I made a vegetarian pasta sauce with textured vegetable protein and tons of veggies.

I used real cheese and threw some sun-dried tomatoes on it.

I slathered the entire thing on whole wheat sourdough crust.

I think it is healthy, and it was definitely pizza.

A meaningful carbohydrate?  As opposed to an empty carb?  That ideas way appealing to me because I worry excessively about carbs.  In fact, I may worry more about carbs more than anything else in my life.  And, it suggests a whole new analogy.  :)

Rats??? What are those? Evidently you don't realize that nothing icky like rats and bugs are allowed within the geographical confines of California. Trust me....the crusts I've attempted with Soy flour werent fit for a doggie to eat...and I'm a great cook.

AHHHHHG

First pizza is as healthy as the ingredients. Ideally its hand tossed by a guy named Nunzio, Tony, Rocko, or Guido ( that last one works on 2 levels.) Wood or coal fired ovens are great but most any oven that can get to +500 degrees is ok.
It should drip some grease as this proves its a real cheese pizza. Some corporate weasel has come up with fake cheese for pizza, make sure your guy doesn't use it. ( It's considered a "wackable offense" here in NY).

Frozen Pizza makes me cringe, I'd lobby hard to make it wackable too.

Pizza should also be inxepensive, and availible 24 hours a day.

Also avoid trendy, yuppie toppings like ... truffles ( like rocko isnt getting these off the back of a truck) or any vegtable, order the salad if you want one.

Stay warm

S
