ok...I'd call this venting, but even the word sounds cold.

School's been cancelled today because of the cold weather. Problem is, it's not supposed to get much warmer for the rest of this week and possibly beyond.

But that's the easy part.

How many people are sitting warmly in their houses/apts/condos/other places of residence but in their heads, there's a constant "cha-ching" going on as they realize what their gas and electric bills are going to look like next month.

Oh my god, yes!  The wind chill is between 18 and 25 below.  On days like this, I tend to do a lot of baking because I can turn off the heat and the oven will pretty much keep the whole apartment warm.  That way I don't feel like I'm wasting money running the oven.

Its about the same here..-5 right now, and thats the actual temp and not the wind chill, last I checked it was -26.

I am trying to keep the heat down with lots of blankets..if I can keep it at a steady 68 deg., I think we will be fine.  I just hate having to fight with my pups for the blankets, they usually win.

Tis 26 out now.  Was up to 32 yesterday. I need to keep the heat up in at least one room, since Angel and I both freeze to death if I dont.  Blankets are great, but whe your pet has no bodyfat to keep him warm, even body heat may not help enough. Though, its as good a excuse as any to curl up under a blanket together and watch TV and movies.

My gas bill is on the budget plan, I got a "raise" this year when they lowered my bill by $20/month.  I am miserly though, I keep my house at 68 degrees.  I have an electric blanket, that helps.

Utilities are included for me so it is of little consequence.  Heat, hot water, air conditioning, the whole deal.  I just hate having to venture out into that slop.

The problem here is that its all electric heat. Imagine trying to heat an entire apartment with a space heater stuck to one wall. It gets there eventualy, I leave the living room heater on low while I am at work. The bedroom is ice cold... but thats good for sleeping. Which sounds like a good idea right now. I hate mornings.  Itll warm up by the time I get out of work.

BAKING!!! What a WONDERFUL idea!!!

Oh great! Now I'll have a higher gas bill, higher electric bill and higher scale...this is not good.

Seven degrees during the drive into work (-15 wind chill).  I usually like to smoke a cig on the way to work but was afraid to crack the window.
It's February.  Almost March.  Which is right next to April.  Think Spring!  Think Spring!  Think Spring!
