Growing up I was always told that no one likes a quitter and I'm not taking any chances. But if that's what your into, good luck.

I am quiting when I wake up in the morning.   I went down and the doc got me a script for Chantix.   It is supposed to block the receptors and unlike the nicotine stuff doesn't use nicotine to help you get past the beginning (never worked for me before)  Script cost $118 at Walmart for a months supply.   Doc said he had 100% success with it.

I just quit a few weeks ago. I've had a couple minor relapses, but so far I've done pretty good. I guess I more or less just cut back in a really big way, but I still feel proud of myself. The next step is utter annihilation of the cancer sticks from my life.

OMG....just yesterday a guy at work told me about Chantix...and said it absolutely worked.....not only for him but a couple of other people he knew.

So i called my family MD to inquire about it (whom i haven't seen in about 10 years).  Seems he is retiring next month and has no info about it at all.  But he told me if i got him some info on it, he would review it and prescribe if appropriate.  So i obviously have to move rather quickly on this or find a new doctor and go through it with him.

i would love, love, love, to know if it works for you.  Could you please let us know how it goes for you?
