quote:
ORIGINAL: MsPoetress I cannot respect people who constantly change their positions to fit the circumstances. I am all for a change of heart, a change of views. I’d have more respect (maybe not agree), but more respect if you would stand up, and stand firm on your beliefs, instead of changing it to fit the blog / post or whatever is popular at the moment. Now I am not saying that I am not a hypocrite at some level. I hate working, but I go to work everyday. There is just something about having food on the TV tray, and a roof over my bondage furniture. It’s just the other types of hypocrisy that really get on my last nerves. To the point where I just want to reach through the monitor and …….. (use your imagination) I just don’t want to hear how you consent, and would do the same, all the while you secretly protest their actions and differ with their opinions. ~poe I was gonna be a smartass and just post "I disagree", but I thought your post deserved a little more thought than that. *grin* I totally understand where you are coming from, and I agree to a point, but I also understand that humans are herd animals, and the herd instinct does run stronger in some of them. There is a pressure from within them to not stick out, to conform, to be like everyone else, whatever their perception of "everyone else" is at the moment. I've been guilty of it for sure, especially when dealing with a topic with which I have little or no factual information. Anyway, people like that are usually really easy to spot (look for them in large groups lol) and they do have their uses, such as guaging what popular opinion is on a particular subject. Other than that, well.. blow a puff of logic in their direction and they tend to disappear.
