I cannot respect people who constantly change their positions to fit the circumstances. I am all for a change of heart, a change of views. I’d have more respect (maybe not agree), but more respect if you would stand up, and stand firm on your beliefs, instead of changing it to fit the blog / post or whatever is popular at the moment.

Now I am not saying that I am not a hypocrite at some level.  I hate working, but I go to work everyday. There is just something about having food on the TV tray, and a roof over my bondage furniture. It’s just the other types of hypocrisy that really get on my last nerves. To the point where I just want to reach through the monitor and …….. (use your imagination)

I just don’t want to hear how you consent, and would do the same, all the while you secretly protest their actions and differ with their opinions.

I just say "to each his own" and leave it at that.
It's no use getting annoyed or upset in any way about other peoples way of acting, living, behaving.
Then everyone would be constantly aggitated, and then where would we be?

I was gonna be a smartass and just post "I disagree", but I thought your post deserved a little more thought than that. *grin* I totally understand where you are coming from, and I agree to a point, but I also understand that humans are herd animals, and the herd instinct does run stronger in some of them. There is a pressure from within them to not stick out, to conform, to be like everyone else, whatever their perception of "everyone else" is at the moment. I've been guilty of it for sure, especially when dealing with a topic with which I have little or no factual information.
Anyway, people like that are usually really easy to spot (look for them in large groups lol) and they do have their uses, such as guaging what popular opinion is on a particular subject. Other than that, well.. blow a puff of logic in their direction and they tend to disappear.

If I dont agree with something in a post, I stay away from it....I am not going to defend how I feel about things, my views to anyone.  And there are some on here who just want to argue.

I publically disagree a lot on here.  I am not worried about "pleasing" the herd that spends a good
deal of time posting here.  If you get to the point that you have to "agree" with and go along with
the herd all the time, what is the point?  I give my opinion because that is what most of all this is-
your opinion.

As a general rule I don't come to these forums to argue. I come here to be entertained and learn. Arguing is not condusive to either.

I may, on occasion give an opinion that is not in direct agreement with someone else but I refuse to do as many do and try to bully those that don't agree with me. That, to me, is childish.

I have, many times, changed my opinion. I do not consider it switching sides but instead learning another point of view, another way of looking at an idea or topic. Sometimes my opinion will not change but my strong bias of the opposition will. Sort of a, well I don't think that will ever work for me but I no longer think your a (insert word here) for thinking/feeling/doing, differently.

I think there is far too much narrow minded bs in these forums. "my way is the one/true/right/only way, and anyone that does not agree with me 100% is wrong".  I like to be more open minded.

I prefer the attitude of, "My way is the right way for me", instead.

If I have something to say to the OP then I post, it may be in agreement or not.  If the post seems to have turned into a flame fest then I stay away.  Making your point does NOT require flaming and insults, yet it happens.

Sometimes if the thread has gotten really long by the time I come across it and so many of the posts have either gotten off topic or some moron stepped in and showed his/her ass to the masses turning the OP into a flame fest of said moron, then I have a tendancy to stay away all together.  Chances are, said moron has inflamed me just as much as the others and that is in fact the matter that I want to address.  I too lose sight of the OP, so instead I just opt to stay out of the whole thing.  Maybe, at a later time, I can come back and just address the OP, but in most cases I just stay away.

Greetings..~smiles~

I have probably changed my way of thinking a few times in regards to a given issue. This is a discussion forum, and people posting here come from all walks of life with all types of different experience levels. I feed on that, and keep open to that especially in area's where I have limited experience, and just enough of it to have made some sort of decision or stance but not necessarily a firm one.

If a person is trying to gain something from their alternating stances..and really there isn't much to from a discussion board other than maybe trying to put yourself in a good lite to attract a specific person, and that person happens to be You..I can't see that it matters much really.

Well Wishes

I come here and if something gets my interest, I post on it.  I won't argue, but I don't mind defending my position.  I know that chances are I won't change that persons mind, but maybe by stating why I feel like I do.. I can open someone elses.

I don't shy away even if my opinion is not liked...its not going to change..from my faith..to my views on abortion, gay marriage, and animal rights..etc.  If someone doesn't agree, they can either tell me why they don't, or move on to the next subject..easy as that.

I don't post unless i'm quite sure i can prove and back up what i'm posting and half the time it looks as thou this prove is not enough for some people any way. If some one posts unarguable proof that the basis for my opinion is wrong then then yes i will change my opninion based on this new information. For me to keep arguing even thou i've been prove wrong would just be plain arrogance on my part. Also if i was to dismiss proven facts or opninions then i would never learn anything. As i'm here mainly to learn, it would be pointless posting or even being here.

The only time i would find it annoying is when some one changes their opinion and tries to make out that it was there opinion all along. Although some times peoples opinions change due to the change of direction of a thread, which usally start with a vaige general question and turn into a highly specific question or situation.

e.i. A thread could start : would you commit murder?. Based on that question my answer would be (in general no). But quite often  this could later in the thread turn into: what about to protect your 6 month year old child from certain death?. And based on this more specific question my answer would be (yes most likely i would to protect the child). It not that my opinion has changed, it's that basis of the question from which my opinion is formed has change.

There people out there that then use then first answer to dismiss the secong even thou the two answers were to different questions or scenarios.

That's fine, and I don't have a problem with saying what I have to say, and being in your face about it.I do the same, and I don't care what people think. It's the people who say one thing, and then something completely opposite in another post.

To me it makes them sound like a complete idiot. Not half of one, but a complete one.
