I tan for about 5 minutes or less a day. It gives me a light, but still noticable tan line over time (I am talking months, not days). I am fully aware of the risks of skin cancer, as is my doctor. I have my skin tested regularly for sun damage and at last test (about 2 months ago) showed less then 8 summers worth of damage. Meaning that the average 8 year old has more sun damage to their skin then I do. This is the way she explained it to me. I work one job at night and another during the day. The only real and natural sun I see is in the 10 minute commute from my second job to my house (all the other times I am driving when the sun is not out). I don't have health care and can't afford a sun lamp so my doctor recommended this as a cheaper alternative (I tan through a friend so it barely costs anything) because of how little damage I have (and it doesn't seem to be getting any more damaged). I thank you all for your concern, but me getting or not getting skin cancer is not the point of this post.
