Learned to believe that the stuff I thought was important but society was telling me was not suppose to be was in fact important and OK for it to be important. To trust my instincts way more.

I started at 30, which from what I hear is probably the best time, maturity-wise, for a male.  So to say 'start earlier' might not be the best thing (although the desires were there).

I had a series of 'stepping-stone' relationships, totalling a lot of years.  I think that is what I would have skipped.  I wanted then what I want now, so that hasn't changed, but I think compromising for the betterment of those around me is what I feel uneasy about.

I used to think i would have loads of advice for myself if i could go back knowing what i do now, but when i have sat and really thought about it no i wouldnt!!!  While some of what has happened in my life has been absolutely shit , its made me just who i am now and im quite happy with everything.
I stand by all my desicions they were right at the time.

It would be nice t be able to go back though and tell my self that i will be happy in a few years though i could of done with knowing that several times!!![:D]

I was referring to D/s..not life in general.
 
What I would have told me:
 
Yes, the best tools ARE your hands.
 
Do NOT go buying $1000 worth of whips (a total of 5) no matter HOW good they are.  You'll never sell them for what you paid for them.
 
Yes, there ARE some things you DON'T want to know.
