I was answering the question as to why there seem to be a higher percentage of fat people in the scene versus percentage vanilla and why it seems to be so much more accepted. I think the fact that people look for something beyond the superficial frequently in the scene does answer the acceptability to some extent. Beyond that, I haven't been to cities outside of new england in the scene, and when I have been, the percentage did not seem outside of societal size norms. quote:
why do certain cultures seem to have different body preferences? and why do fat people seem to be more accepted in bdsm? rather than just rehashing the obvious "We're all beautiful! It's all about the inside!" I think I answered that... Being ultra thin is (IMO) an abnormal popularized ideal that (black) folks, who are working too hard to make ends meet (and haven't the money to buy vogue and cosmo) haven't the time or energy to obsess over that nonsense on most days, lol... Is that stereotypical? Sorry this thread is trouble I can see it... It's not stating we are all beautiful that is the problem... I think that we would first have to agree that the number/percentage of fat lifestylers is aberrant in comparison to society's percentage of fat people. In my admittedly limited observation, it is not... I disagreed with you that being unpopular and on the net is the reason for large number of fat people in BDSM... My thought is that fat/unpopular people are more likely to join fat acceptance groups rather than people who do some crazy shit groups (what BDSM is in vanilla minds). M
