This is only the second time I ever did this. 5 years ago I bought a 1000 dollar metal detector for myself as a, I do not know why I am doing this treat for myself at Christmas time. It was on sale by the way which is why I took advantage of it. This year I bought a Pioneer 7.1 channel 100 watts per channel receiver for myself. What a guy I am lol. I am a outdoors person the winter sucks so I have been enjoying the receiver so far while I am stuck indoors. It raised my spirits to hear a higher quality of music while I am online now. By the way it was on sale also.

I buy myself something for Christmas every year, and this year it was a Cappachino machine.

*raises her hand*

Yup, I sure did. Two as a matter of fact. I bought myself a 1 1/2 carat diamond, right hand band and a 22 Ct gold pendant. I bought the chain for myself last Christmas. I had the pendant made for me in Sri Lanka. A friend of mine is from there and her brother is a jeweler and makes the most unusual jewelry. it's lovely and I couldn't be more pleased with myself.
I fully and openly admit to being a jewelry slut !

I freely admit to that as well, LOL.  I bought myself a peridot pendant and earrings this year (not my birthstone, but I like the color--but then again what gemstone don't I like?)

I also bought myself a skirt set and sweater, but that was with $$$ an aunt had sent to me as a gift.

A bottle of my favorite perfume, which I have not had for a few years.  (pausing to inhale the scent of Diva on skin)

lady topaz, my sister does the same thing - buys peridot jewelry for herself even though it's not her birthstone. confuses the heck out of everybody she meets, hehehehe. i think peridot is gorgeous :)

i haven't had the money to buy myself a present this year, although i did do that the last couple of years :) maybe when financial aid time comes around - we'll see :) last year i was lucky and had quite a bit of money to budget...i got myself a digital camera. this year i really don't know of anything that i want or need, though. so i think it's best to put the money towards other things.

Didn't have the money to this year, unless having my grandma ask me which robe I like at Target and then her buying said robe counts.

Last year, I got myself a CD.

Since I usually get a lot of money and gift cards ( being the black sheep of the family,  most have no idea what to buy me ) I usually "buy myself" a few christmas gifts ...

This year?

A shower conversion for my turn-of-the-century clawfoot tub.  Much as I love my baths ... I NEED showers.

A few DVD collections of series I love.  (- Night Stalker,  Dead Like Me (season 1+2),  Firefly -)

The Complete Calvin and Hobbes collection (- thing weighs ALMOST as much as my dictionary -)

The next installment in the Repairman Jack books by F. Paul Wilson.

I was just sitting here thinking about what I bought when I realized that for the first time in years I didn't get myself one damned thing! I better call my favourite jeweler!

We did the same.  Wandered into Best Buy after an innocent brunch on the 24th... Hubby told me his computer was on it's last leg and wanted to get a new computer.  Long story short, here is sit with a new  $1400 laptop and comfortably sitting here in my la-z-boy :)

Now, if I can just get over buyers remorse.  This year's tax return should cover it.

I bought myself several items as I do every year!
It's hard to resist the great sales.
I often buy one for someone else, and one for myself when
the price is right!
I bought myself a sweater/jacket, a hat, and other really
small items.
I always put what I buy myself NEXT to the gifts I receive.
**Merry Christmas**

i had no intention of buying myself anything. However when i was out doing my shopping for everyone else, these three sweaters just come out and bit me....they were a great deal, so i couldn't pass them up. So as i was checking out i said a merry christmas to myself and was quite happy with my new lil purchase.

I bought myself a 1 ct emerald cut royal purple amethyst to go into a diamond ring that I've had. I loveee those deep purple stones and I had my jeweler replace the center diamond with it. It looks gorgeous. Yes I'm a jewelry slut too.

I got myself little things, but they were things I needed anyway.  It's far easier for me to spend money on others than it is myself- I was more than willing to shell out a few hundred for my partners new monitor, but I haven't given myself a deeply needed haircut in months.

And then there's the giftcards- the BBB card went towards a potato peeler, new lightbulbs, a measuring cup and an "extra" gift for my sister, and the Target cards will likely go to a kitchen cart since we really need some more counter space.

I actually enjoy spoiling myself when I'm secure enough with the money- but unless I've got quite a comfy cushion to sit on, it's all about what we need and will be useful to others.
