There was a time before the internet (gasp!) and cell phones (i know it's hard to believe) when a few folks (mostly males) engaged in "obscene phone calls"  where they would dial a number at random and if a female answered they would proceed to "talk dirty".  The advent of 900 numbers, unlisted land lines, cell phones and the internet pretty much made those phone calls a thing of history.

There are still some who want to "talk dirty" to the anonymous female and find the internet to be a good source for them.  *shrug*  being old enough to remember the days before internet and cell phones ( yes, i am a dinosaur) i don't get myself in a tizzy over the few HNGs who send weird emails or unwanted IMs.

Some of us simply don't factor in alcohol.... we are taught that we should never play under the influence, but i don't think that applies to the internet and my guess is there is more than a few people sending emails while drunk. *shrug*

The problem i see in adding to ones profile all the creeps one doesn't want to contact them is that the offender will never read it or if they do they will not recognize themselves and it just makes the profile seem negative.  Sadly the profile comments are really directed toward those who will not comply anyway.

On a related matter, why is it you can put something SPECIFIC in your profile, and others contact you anyway asking about the very item you note?  Don't they read them?  I (accidentally....thought i de-activated it, but.....) deleted my first profile that specifically stated that i wanted NO PART of getting involved with married men, that cyber was totally boring, and that while I didn't have a pic, i had a webcam...yeah, that part wasn't something i should have mentioned....but i also stated that i wouldn't strip for them.  i didn't think these items were lost in the translation, as i said, they were pretty specific.  Thank goodness for the delete button!  (Sorry, i didn't mean to hijack this....but i'm sure everyone has had this happen too.)  As far as the OP, yep, been there, done that.  Sent the t-shirt back!

Personally, I found every note I've received here gracious, polite, and especially forebearing (considering my flippant mouth).

From the few mails I receive here, I must say the vast majority are polite, well-written, and all that. Most of them even seem to have paid attention to my profile and the few journal entries I have, which is extra nice.

But then I've gotten a few emails from submissive males, usually far, far away which just confound me. And there have been a few really impolite ones when I reply with my variation on "Thanks for taking the time to email me, sorry, not into guys, good luck finding what you're looking for" emails... but then there are some that just flat-out make me laugh. I thought I would never stop giggling when someone who's profile said they made three million a year offered me fifty thosaund dolers (his spelling) dollars to let him masturbate with my goatee after I shaved it off and mailed it to him.

And if anyone's wondering, if he'd been serious and had the cash ready, OF COURSE I would have done it.

You mean a "hello slut" and a picture of my penis is not the way to get to know someone?  Is there more of me or her to know?

Hello All

I do not know about any of you but I have noted that in many profiles and it seems to be growing that, at least the women here have been contacted by men and instead of a friendly hello and welcome..they get some really rude comments.

Makes me wonder what is happening.

I wish you well

I'd like to first say that its my opinion that the women who dwell on these rude posts and fill their profiles with negative comments about them, wind up discouraging worthy men from contacting them (those comments are a huge turn-off to me).  They can just as easily hit the delete button followed by the block sender button.

I'd also like to say that it happens on both sides of the coin.  Today I was contacted by a woman who initially sent a 4 word cryptic message which was followed 4-1/2 hours later with another one line post demanding that I reply to her!  Needless to say, this isn't the kind of woman whose style of communication is such that I'd be interested in serving her as a submissive.

I had a very odd one the other day, from someone purporting to be a children's comic book character (famous in the UK, maybe not known at all in the US)

He seemingly called my whole profile text into question. For what reason I dont know, and frankly dont care, though I did send him a mail back to answer his questions, in the perhaps ridiculous thought that maybe he was just a bit obtuse and shy and didnt know how to approach me.

Poor lad. Mind you, if my best friends were a badger and a pig, maybe I'd write mails like that too.

The online world creates a certain anonymity in which it is much easier to be rude to someone than it would be in person. If a stranger walked up to me and said "You need me, cunt" I don't know whether I'd fall over laughing or fall over from the force of the roundhouse I threw.

There is only so much one can do in cyberspace. Here, there are relatively few negative actions one can bestow upon an idiot; therefore, it is my opinion that those who are blatantly rude and disrespectful online are frustrated in real life and have to take their anger out in ways that are not ultimately harmful to them. If a girl (or Man) does not like one's approach here, the only "punishment" is, perhaps, an angry e-mail or being tossed in the Ignore Abyss. It's a numbers game.
